I post about toys! Amateur reading guide curator, TFWiki admin. He/they.
Some of the modern Star Wars comics are a really perfect example of how fucking nightmarish it is to try and help people read American comics, when everything's been collected four times in different ways.
Well, by the point of *that* art happening, non-Burcham colourists were already misinterpreting the colours that way! For a point of comparison, here's another Zama/Burcham piece where Windblade's black parts are being coloured in a brighter blue than Optimus Prime's actual blues!
The two biggest bits of evidence against it being fake, IMO, are it having a preproduction sample code etched on its thigh (really specific thing to get right) and the box art having totally different lighting. If it's been shopped, somebody spent *hours* painstakingly redoing that art.
It appears to take the usual "misinterpreting retro blue-as-black comic colouring as him being literally blue" thing even *further* than usual, and misinterpret areas the areas of paler blue where light is shining on Onyx as being an actual second shade of blue in the colour scheme...?
Okay so TIL that BFTB updated their Action Force prototypes page, and I'm now obsessed with Kobel and Koshka, the unproduced evil dogboy/catgirl duo who would've joined the Red Shadows. www.bloodforthebaron.com/toys/1982-19...
Decided to see out Yo Joe June by doing a quick model sheet colouring of incoming SDCC exclusive Crimson Guard Cadet Deming!
Very irresponsible of Greater Anglia to promote tourism to the city of Unlondon, too many lives have already been lost to the faceless unpeople who live there. It's not worth the risk just to get a look at landmarks like the Houses of Unparliament, enthralling as their alien geometry might be.
Classified's two OCs for 2026 really serve as a perfect illustration of the aesthetic difference between G.I. Joe and Cobra, lol. The new Joe is "what if a soldier was also a cowboy?" and then the new Cobra is a garish freak dressed for a Halloween party at a sex club. (This is why Cobra is better.)
Did some editing on the Mistress Armada render reveal to see what her headgear options look like on! Between Lilian here and Darklon, I really enjoy Classified's implication that Destro has all his top officers in the Iron Grenadiers get bespoke metal helmets inspired by their cultural heritage.
I got curious about how consistently the pattern holds, and have now learned about Jewelia (lol) from something they made called Shadow Raiders. Seems like the pattern does hold!
One of my fav. bits of Beast Machines trivia is that Strika was almost certainly based on the WIP toy design that was ultimately released as Blastcharge - the S2 writers' notes describe her as a segmented Humvee with turret weaponry, which is very specific but describes Blastcharge perfectly!
Yeah, it's specifically an evil face per the product description, to go with evil sounds that he apparently makes if you keep the button held down:
And yeah, you can see in the images for the cereal one that the truck cab winds up a bit undersized compared to the trailer.
Really cool that the Imperial Security Bureau has decorated for Pride, great to see an inclusive workplace!
For anyone looking to set their watches, it's looking like the remaining Target TFTM exclusives (Prowl, Starscream, Insecticon pack) will be going up for preorder at 2pm UK time tomorrow (AKA 8am US Central time).
(The best THR character is Geode, a big motionless rock who is reportedly a skilled starship navigator and incorrigible flirt, but you as the reader are never shown how, as a motionless big rock, he can do those things - they only ever happen "off-screen" and get talked about by other characters.)
And a new chest! And new wheels! And somehow the guns seem to be on a different sprue to before?? I don't know what the fuck is going on with him, it's wild.
I'm going crazy that Sakamoto swerved on this and made Nemesis Star Convoy *not* Ms. Nemesis.
I'm really not very convinced by ML Ironhide. Like, surely the effect you would want is that he looks like "what if the Diaclone Vanette mould looked more like the other Diaclone Car Robots?", but instead he just looks like a normal modern figure of Ironhide with some G1 toy details added.
My periodic report from the world of Apex Legends: in a truly amazing piece of national stereotyping, the game has introduced its first German character, who looks like this and is a literal dominatrix *and* a techno club DJ when she isn't competing in bloodsports.
I can and will take any excuse to post about this three-way split diopter shot from Riverdale.
