This is an extraordinarily me box of 4 movies that arrived today.
Odysseus probably should have purchased some luggage before his trip.
I’ve moved onto the Siskel and Ebert episode with THE DREAM TEAM and don’t you dare tell me that “Michael Keaton is not believable as a wild man.” HOW DARE YOU. Gene, you’re comparing it to ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST. Sure, everything “lacks” when compared to CUCKOO’S NEST!
And you too can have your own California Raisin singer — just $0.99 plus proof of purchase.
Rewatching Siskel and Ebert from 1989. I reached the episode featuring THE ‘BURBS — where they eviscerate the film (“unfunny” / “unoriginal”) and heap relative praise on NEIGHBORS (81) for being the far superior of the two. They also note that Dante’s film has been a box office success due to Hanks.
This graphic was on the instructions/warnings for my wife’s new sunglasses. Explain what the hell that final image intends to represent. 😂
Phew. Nevermind. Caribbean Village just moved down the mall.
This mall has everything. A boxing club, a Cinemark, a very sketchy day care, an open Spencer’s, and a pink panther kiddie train to ride.
But but but there’s a PHENOMENA shirt in this closed store.
Reminds me of the dress the Gremlin puts on in Gremlins 2. Wrong movie.
#NowWatching Johnnie To’s THE HEROIC TRIO on a @criterion.bsky.social 4K. First time watch somehow.
Okay and I went back today because they restocked BODY HEAT.
I FORGOT TO POST THE INNARDS. This is what was in my Criterion bag. #CriterionSale #Barnes&Noble
It’s not a bag of books — it’s a bag of @criterion.bsky.social discs from BARNES & NOBLE, of course! And that means it’s time to play everyone’s favorite semiannual game: WHAT’S IN THE BAG!?! So, friends… what’s in my bag. I’ll start you off with this fact about my bag. There are SIX! titles.
GAH. I’ve already left DISCLOSURE DAY by the side of the road after two days, but I’m still thinking about how much I enjoyed MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE.
Some might suggest I could resist the temptation. You clearly don’t know me very well. I mean, look at it.
I’m just going to leave this here to immortalize Daniel T. Lappen of Springfield, Ill. #PremiereFeb1989 “Casting Mr. Mom as Batman because of his dramatic success in CLEAN & SOBER makes as much sense as casting Mary Tyler Moore because of her dramatic success in ORDINARY PEOPLE.”
Now this is the news I read Premiere to uncover. The guy taping over a rental copy of Crocodile Dundee with homemade porn. #PremiereFeb1989
