Making a Good Living, No Matter What
@janegenova
I'm an intuitive career coach and tarot reader. I pick up what others don't the obstacles to your ability to earn a good living, no matter what.
The romance slump. Hey, dating is expensive. And its worse-case scenario - divorce - is also expensive. I hang out at home with the dog.
Europe has had enough of tourists. Find someplace else to vacation. How about your state park. Geneva on the Lake here in Ohio is my happy place.
Beware of all who tell you they see the future clearly. I don't even do that as a tarot reader. At the top of the list of those who got the future very wrong is Leopold Aschenbrenner.
Wachtell lovebirds Nathaniel Cullerton and Kelsey Borenweig are still listed on the firm's website. Usually the woman is the first to go. So far both stay.
Delivery gigs are shifting to e-bikes. If you feel "too old" to get up on two wheels, the e-trike will keep you in the game. janegenovaintuitivecareercoaching.blogspot.com/2026/05/deli...
It's being said that AI threatens Jobs With Dignity. AI is off-limits with my mystical tarot-reading. I enjoy fierce purpose.
The end of times? Gas here in the midwest almost 5 bucks a gallon.
The elephant in the room: Does Barshay have the leadership skills to pull Paul, Weiss out of this? If not, will he too go down? janegenovaintuitivecareercoaching.blogspot.com/2026/03/paul...
Higher gas prices. I probably won't take that three-hour drive to Geneva on the Lake this weekend.
Walk dogs before Super Bowl starts. It will probably be a long night in front of a screen.
I take a look at the extreme danger of sunk costs. Maybe the mindset of this volatile era is not to invest too much in preparing for any career path. lookingatpaulweiss.blogspot.com/2025/12/the-...
Odd were those “character” letters sent to federal Judge Hellerstein prior to the sentencing of fraudster Charlie Javice. Those seemed to have nothing to do with character. So, what is character? janegenova.substack.com/p/charlie-ja...
When leaders use the term "challenging." Code for don't panic but things seem bad. Could get worse.
Generative AI. Is there too much risk appetite? If there's a stock market crash because of that boomer nest eggs could be wiped out.
In some professions aging can give the edge. In my 70s I started doing paid tarot readings (before that free ones to friends). From the get-go, it took off. I wasn't as "full of myself" as younger readers.
Networking is exhausting. But you only need one or two contacts to open opportunities for you. That's why you keep relationships going.
Radical Acceptance. I no longer try to look young.
Dumpster Diving goes middle class. Here's a recent find sold on Craigslist.
Bill Belichick. There's no fool like an old fool.
I no longer give my age, when asked. It will be used against me, even though "they" gush how much I don't look my age.
Just-in-time. I purchased my cute Smart Car before the tariffs.
If you're like so many in this economy full of wild shifts, you may be "just getting by." In tarot readings I give clients "permission" to, yes, just get by. And use that pause to sort out what is your purpose. tarotreadingsforcareers.blogspot.com/2025/03/i-gi...
Dow Jones Plunge. Yes, boomers, it could get worse. You may have to unretire.
Prospect Theory: Too many in sales focus on the risk, not the reward. So they don't pick up the phone, send the email or ask the current client for additional business.
With the tariffs more will be buying used clothing. You can get a Calvin Klein jacket for under $20.
Frigid cold. Even here in Arizona. I thought to myself: I have to heat up the car. Then I rememberd I don't have a car. I have an e-bike.
Worried about your health? Sure, get medical help. But, remember, you're going to die any way. Worry won't prevent that.
LCOL. That's what Sierra Vista, AZ is all about. I could afford to stop working and not run out of money for the rest of my life. But, emotionally, I need to work.
Post-career. Riding into the sunset, not semiretiring. That's an option and you may never have to set an alarm clock again.
