MLA for Calgary Currie. Shadow Minister of Mental Health and Addiction. Harm reduction saves lives.
Sunalta’s pancake breakfast tends to be my last of the Stampede circuit. It’s hard to top the live music, tree canopy, 1000s of guests, brilliant volunteers and a whole lot of friends, new and old. It never disappoints!
It was a fun and fabulous Stampede breakfast at the Association for the Rehabilitation of the Brain Injured. Wonderful event put on by a wonderful organization located right in the heart of Calgary-Currie.
What a fun evening that was! Thank you Calgary-Currie for coming out and spending time with us! To all the amazing, dedicated volunteers, we could not do any of this without you!
Can’t begin to express my gratitude for these good people at the forefront of addiction recovery and treatment. Thank you for all that you do. Included in the pics are Simon House, Alcove Recovery, Stonewall Recovery, Fresh Start Recovery and Oxford House.
Such a fabulous Stampede celebration at Extendicare Cedars Villa. Thank you to the dedicated staff and volunteers who enrich the lives of residents and their families.
These pulse growers are truly helping to feed the world. Always thankful to learn more about the industry.
Equal Voice's Stampede Reception brings together so many talented people working to make our communities strong, like Matt Nomura, CEO at Distress Centre Calgary, Sask. MLA Darcy Warrington, my colleague Rhiannon Hoyle, MLA for Edmonton-South and Robyn Romanow, the new ED at Hospice Calgary.
It was a real pleasure meet some of the incredible team at the Military Family Resource Centre and the families they support. Military families give so much to our communities, often making sacrifices that go unseen. It was inspiring to learn more about the important work being done at the MFRC.
Thank you to the Hellenic Seniors Society and Bow Cliff Seniors staff and volunteers for putting on such a lovely Stampede breakfast! I never turn down a chance to catch up with so many great people.
Access to mental health supports is a top priority for students on campus. Loved chatting with powerful advocates from Grande Prairie, Olds College and Alberta Students Executive Council (ASEC).
Thank you @equalvoiceca for hosting a terrific event. Wonderful to catch up with community leaders giving shelter to women fleeing domestic violence @radiancesociety
Hey Calgary-Currie, you're invited to our 3rd annual Stampede BBQ on Friday, July 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bow Cliff Seniors, 3375 Spruce Dr SW. Come enjoy the free food, music, games for the kids and door prizes for the adults!
Great start to Stampede breakfast celebrations this morning at the Calgary Dream Centre Homecoming Hoe Down and the Salvation Army. Two great organizations doing wonderful work in our community.
Proud to be Albertan. Proud to be Canadian. Today we celebrate the people, places, and shared values that make our country strong. Wishing everyone a safe and joyful Canada Day.
When it comes to the province getting involved in areas of municipal jurisdiction, the Premier careens between lanes like a three-wheeled sedan on Deerfoot. Check out my latest Substack post. https://loom.ly/px2gA7s
Thank you so much to Olds College for the chance to join you at the Common Ground event last night! Agriculture and agri-food is world class in Alberta - owed in large part to the innovators and educators at Olds College.
The UCP government has failed to take the cost of living crisis seriously. Read my latest Substack. https://loom.ly/oTsTCP4
The UCP government has done nothing to ease the pressure of soaring electricity costs. The Alberta NDP has a plan to cut your bill by 10% and help keep prices down. Read more in our Affordability Agenda at albertandp.ca/savemoney.
Bring the whole family on Sunday, June 7 to the 4th Street Lilac Festival. With more than 500 vendors, one of our city’s largest outdoor summer street festivals will have something for everyone. And say hi if you drop by the For Alberta, For Canada booth! Lilac Fest runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
If government actually listened to the frontline: doctors, RNs, paramedics, mental health and addiction specialists, incidents like this would be a rare exception. Albertans should never have to accept this as the new norm. My deepest condolences to Mr. Smith’s family.
Always wonderful sharing ideas about how we build mental health supports for families. Thank you Dr. Mustanzid for the visit!
It is heartening to see so many fellow Albertans stepping forward like never before. Let's work together to protect our place in this beautiful country. https://loom.ly/vgB_l5M #ForAlbertaForCanada
Why would anyone want to bring their business to Alberta when so much uncertainty lies ahead? Danielle Smith does not care about Alberta or Canada. She only cares about her own political survival.
Thank you to all those who came out on such short notice to share your love for Alberta, for Canada. It’s an honour to stand with you as proud Canadians. #ForAlbertaForCanada
The UCP government wants to redraw the electoral boundaries for their own political gain. The Globe and Mail highlights just how much an election result can change as a result. This level of interference has never been seen in Canada before.
The data breach scandal has given the Premier of Alberta the opportunity to play one of her favourite games, the blame game.
One of the largest data breaches in Canadian history has put the security of three million Albertans at risk and still we are waiting to hear what the Premier is going to do about it. https://loom.ly/Aq8_Ncg
On Monday, the UCP government defeated by private member's bill that would have kept a little more money in your pocket. I honestly thought this was a bill they could support.
