Any other Brits originally watch this on Channel 4? I grabbed the VHS when I saw it for sale and I also have the DVD. A nice adaptation of the legend and it's a damn shame that Sergei Kozlov didn't receive an award for the cinematography. It's shot so well and the special effects are astounding. 👏🏾

This is a tough one but I suppose Super Mario Bros. is my favourite game of all time. It came to the UK almost 40 years ago, I've finished it countless times and there's far more advanced titles - including its successors but the sentimentality remains eternal. You never get bored of a classic. 💙 🎮

Sega's hardware swansong. It deserved so much better but innovation doesn't always translate into success. Anyhow, it's enjoying a resurrection via the homebrew scene. Here's mine - saved from a landfill, subsequently repaired by yours truly and providing me with no end of #retro entertainment. ☺️🎮

And now for something completely different: a random find on FB Marketplace. For just under £40k, you can cosplay The A-Team with this remarkably accurate recreation of their iconic van. Unfortunately it's a bit out of my budget so I'll have to pass but somebody out there is bound to have fun! 😁

Super Star Wars is diabolically difficult (so are the sequels) - its been said that there's no shame in playing it on easy mode! I gave it a go previously and soon gave up. Anyway, I've revisited it and I'm very proud that I've managed to at least finish a stage on "Brave" mode. Progress, right? 😁

I'm only a few tries in but this is my best so far. You really have to be mindful of the energy meter because it ticks down even when you're not sustaining damage! 😲 I'm impressed by the amount of enemy aircraft on-screen without significant slowdown.

Any fans of the Konami arcade game Green Beret? The homebrew scene put together an extremely faithful version for the #Sega Master System - which is helped by the SMS and the arcade machine sharing the same CPU and PSG. Children should have body cams so that their parents and the school inspectors can see how teachers really behave. If I'd been able to film the awful things that were said and done to myself and my schoolmates, there would've been repercussions for the school and the teachers concerned.

I love that it's easy to maintain and repair. The hardware was ahead of its time with Internet connectivity and a 480p VGA signal when its rivals were 240p PAL/NTSC. You can run homebrew without a hardware mod and there's so much on offer. New games/ports and also emulators for MAME to MSX to SMS.

Twenty years later in Martin Scorsese's perfect - and criminally overlooked black comedy, After Hours. The cast are amazing and I love her role in this. Likewise with the recently departed Catherine O'Hara, for that matter. 💙

Likewise - and it still succeeds on that front now I'm an adult. What scares/scared me the most isn't even the episodes directly but their messages/warnings/morals. The nightmare-fuel reveal during the closing moments of "The Shelter" and its statement on humanity. Gosh. 😧
