Brewer. Red River Métis and citizen of the MMF. He / him. Currently battling one of life’s least dangerous cancers, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia.
I contend that high volume vertical drinking is better than the obvious alternative of high volume horizontal drinking.
“The sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.” Neuromancer’s opening line feels extra evocative today. Apologies to @greatdismal.bsky.social “The sky above the brewery was the colour of a dead forest.”
I’ve taken a not small number of cat pics that look like album covers. And there are decent editing / layout tools for cheap, and even free, these days.
Went to the southernmost tip of Canada’s mainland! And got eaten alive taking the pic!
This hasn’t been a great day. But seeing the echinacea blooming has made it a little better.
Took a cute pic of my brother and nephew playing, saw this too late in the background.
The most boring part of brewing is transferring beer from a fermenter to a brite tank for packaging. Eventually, you’re stuck waiting for the air bubble in the sight glass to show up, signalling the tank is now empty. But you then have to cut the flow so the bubble doesn’t fug up your your brite.
Here’s one for you — the Discovery Museum in Dundee has a room of Inuit technology that doesn’t once mention the Inuit. In a dig at my fam, there’s also a note on how the ship carried pemmican without mentioning its origins in the Plains.
I don’t think she was at all unhappy about RPing Godzilla during Gloomhaven.
Guess who spent 45 minutes organizing the walk-in so he could have a cooling station!
My food processor has 8 separate safeguards that all must be aligned perfectly or it won’t start. Meanwhile, a straight razor in a plastic frame reminds me to watch my fingers.
Boss: We need some cool looking pics of the space. Me: I got this.
I know a lot of writers who can only dream of being this unpopular. Anyway, also read the thread.
“Hey, Jay, you know how you talk a big game about eating anything?”
Dad (Red River Métis), to the right. “Yeah, he was kinda’ racist.” I think my kid tried to get this one into the Indigenous photos archive at the U of A to much hilarity.
A sprig of supermarket mint went WILD in the Aerogarden. It’s going to make so much tea.
We did a walking tour of of Doctor Who and Sherlock locations in Cardiff. That l’il guy is in the church Donna tried to get married in. We even saw a couple TARDISes!
A track level injury means no subway Christie to Jane. For anyone who wonders what happens … this is 2 trains’ worth of people waiting for the shuttle buses. The line is now 100’ behind me.
We might need to ditch the Roku. Nearly 20,000,000 ad requests blocked within a week WTF
I love beavers. Absolutely amazing critters. But I don’t think it’s great if they’re moving up to the Arctic because of climate change. Anyway, bonus pic of a beaver in the Humber River near Étienne Brûlée Park in Toronto.
We celebrated Easter late this year, but still kept it traditional.
