You need a hero, look in the mirror, there go your hero. To every age its art, to every art its freedom.
Just like this, only instead of a toddler, it’s journalists, crew, and staff being used as a shield by the ultimate coward.
I saw a movie last week that I think you’d love! It’s French and was on the festival circuit for a bit but may be shown near you soon? This one: (the Marching Band in USA).
Sometimes I get nostalgic and go through old Playbills and find fun tidbits. Like apparently 11 yo Benjamin Platt was in Caroline, or Change?? (The last time I visited this Playbill it was Anika Noni Rose who got my attention!)
Been a massive fan of Rebecca Hall’s talent ever since I saw her as my favorite Shakespeare character back in 2005 in SF. (With Dan Stevens!)
Last night at @burnsfilmcenter.bsky.social, we watched CHRISTINE, the film starring Rebecca Hall (as a reporter who suicided on live TV in the early 70s) followed by a Q&A with writer Craig Shilowich, director Antonio Campos, Hall, and costar Tracy Letts. It’s such a pleasure that the Burns exists!
Seeing no “California” qualifier after “Oakland” in this @emilynussbaum.bsky.social review of Birthright made me so, so happy. So often when I’ve said I moved to the east coast from Oakland, and I see blank stares, I have to explain that it’s “across the Bay from San Francisco” and I hate it.
I’m fact checking now and this photo is all bullshit. Here are names of 6 American military members (who are part of the REAL 16) killed in March.
As a kid, I visited a friend who lived in Herndon and we took the metro to DC on 4th of July and this was the lineup.
Last year I spent my birthday miserable at a near-strangers’ wedding in upstate/western New York. This year I spent it where I really wanted to be. In the CITY.
I LOVE THAT IN THIS NYC BAR WE ARE ALL YELLING DEFENSE LIKE THEY CAN HEAR US IN SAN ANTONIO.
I mean look at this beauty! And it’s a cut and come again, so I should be able to enjoy it for weeks.
I almost wish I still had Instagram so that I could share the most beautiful head of lettuce I’ve ever grown.
We don't usually see each other's headers. Here's mine. (Pic taken by me in Kyoto.) Quote-skeet with yours (if you feel like it)
Ya girl celebrated Pride today in her little Connecticut town and it was so good to know this community is welcoming af.
Thank you for sharing this. He articulates here why I quit FB/Insta last year. I felt some friendships diluting. I long for the intimacy of knowing their inner lives again, the truly sacred in the age of passive sharing with anyone willing to follow.
I miss some of the corporations being here so that I could do things like tag United Airlines in this photo I took on the plane from SFO to Newark this morning! I don’t think this is supposed to happen!
Throw the dirt on my casket and call it a day because I’m ded. #Survivor50 #CirieFields
Listening to an entire fucking album the way God intended!!!!!!! Life’s simple pleasures! Happy Sunday.
