AotM excerpt showcasing one of my favorite location designs: Vox's mega-mansion in the foothills of the Pentagram City caldera. The hellshark matriarch is still a high-tier one-off OC.

The chapter names are scraps from T.S. Eliot. The very first imagery of AotM came from "Whispers of Immortality", seen here. It started from just this and ended up literally changing my life. I can FEEL how much this project taught me, & I can't believe how close I am to finishing it after 4 years.

Have a chunk of Tender Haruspicy, where Alastor reading "The Hellbound Heart" leads to exposition on his struggle w/ existential malaise, the chronic understimulation of APD, & why extreme masochism might be his gateway to engaging w/ quasi-sexual catharsis. Or, Hellraiser makes Alastor horny.

We've entered what I like to call the giga-kaiju part of upcoming AotM. If S2 gave radiostatic Mega-Evolutions, I went for their Gigantamax formes - and Charlie's, too. It's technically a Cthulhu Mythos crossover, I have a duty to scale.

(4/4) I'll QRT more of this chapter later, but this was one of the catharsis points I most treasured getting to write. The Iago/Prospero allegory is also a piece I'm particularly happy with, & the basis of my Charlastor dynamic coming from "One Hell of a Team" by AmaLee is still holding strong.

(3/4) We love a Charlie who's giving serious attention to learning about politics, governance, economics, & social sciences to support her ambitions. We also love an Alastor who finds out how fun it would be to set her up w/ the rhetorical ammo to make Heaven squirm when she calls them out.

(2/4) Keeping to four slides over carousel for the longer character limit to talk about the scene, bc this really was a hugely emotional one for me, Mr. Daddy Issues that I am. Alastor doesn't swoop in bc he's BETTER than Lu, but bc the humbling I put him through made him more willing to TRY.

(1/4) Today's AotM archiving is all about my fav platonic Charlastor exchange, at the Act III culmination of their joint character arc. Feat. whimsical hand-holding, hugs, #Dadlastor figuring out what to do w/ nurturing urges for a grown woman, & a time before we knew Lucifer couldn't hurt Sinners.

I didn't know this book existed an hour ago, but I cannot fucking WAIT to read it. This is so exactly my style, and the recent proliferation of queer horror by queer authors warms my heart. Wrath Month kicking off with a bang!

It's even better bc I gave him a different name before S2 dropped, and I once again get to incorporate a retcon into the actual plot of the fic. This is The Big One. My last shot to go all-out on every scenario I want to explore. & the subject of What Rosie Knows is in for some /lavish/ treatment.

It might still be slow going, but I AM having a delightful time working on AotM, too. 🫣

(2/2) What I've learned from this so far is that, if Angel isn't reading somebody to filth out loud, odds are good he's still doing it internally.

Thanks to her, I'm writing Angel's direct POV for the very first time, and I'm so excited to keep going. 7-12k of canon-based #radiodust doomed yaoi to come.

(4/4) My favorite part of the #radiosilence sub-arc of AotM is that there's an implied parallel narrative throughout - knowing that across town, Vox thinks his every #radiostatic fantasy is coming true, & is blowing up his relationships in a manic frenzy when they imperil his grandiose delusions.

(3/4) The culmination of the #radiosilence honeypot, feat. an Alastor who had his earliest music rights stolen by a White producer & never got over it + a-i- turning out to be both Al's worst nightmare & the real Big Bad of the whole story. bg tragic yaoi staticmoth for that extra punch.

(2/4) More fun features: yandere Vox being apocalyptically jealous that Alastor chose to be business partners w/ Charlie right after they met, but not him after years of rapport. Ace-based #radiosilence horror and weapons-grade gaslighting abound.

(1/4) I'm having toxic old man yaoi #radiostatic feels today, so here's an excuse to excerpt AotM - feat. Vox's equivalent of the Bayou looking like the Poolrooms, yandere!Vox, and #radiosilence Alastor trying to honeypot his stalker to his doom. Love that I can also class this as a horror sequence.

Found it. As much as I love playing with the enmeshment of body horror & genuinely wholesome intimacy, I'll also die on the hill that radiodust is a ship about two Cool World-esque cartoons clowning around.

TBT to I think the only time the classic "plap plap" sound effect has made it into my fics so far, bc I love that AotM-verse radiodust has given me so many excuses to play with the fact that sex is inherently goofy af. Feat. me finally remembering Al's monocle and top!Angel being my Roman Empire.

Been discovering that Disco Elysium if fucking /exactly/ my style, and process of association made me want to dig up this passage from AotM. It's one of my favorite Alastor-brand comedic non-sequiturs in the fic.

Also, these. I just love the idea of Alastor fooling around with his shadow for comedy. They've got all kinds of pantomime bits and inside jokes.

My fucking KINGDOM for an Alastor redraw of these frames from My Own Monster by X Ambassadors. The entire music video is perfect for him, I might have to attempt some myself.
