Here are a couple of reasons why I am voting for @peggyflanagan.bsky.social
Don’t believe their caricatures of Black fathers. I’m sick of it. Read the full article at jazzhampton.substack.com
By this morning, a familiar defense had already started to take shape. Hokit is a character. A heel. A performer. He plays a role. Do not take it literally. We have been here before. They called it locker room talk. They called it hyperbole. They called it “Trump just being Trump.”
Education doesn’t stop in the summer in Minneapolis. Some of the most important classrooms don’t have walls.
Some decisions take five minutes. This one took five years of living it fully to know it was right. I’ve decided to step down as CEO of TurnSignl and begin a new chapter.
Easy to smile are good people. #HumphreyMondaleDinner
“The moment you honor the man who committed the injustice, you have told us exactly where you stand. Minnesota is watching. And we will remember in November.” Read this article for free here: open.substack.com/pub/jazzhamp...
In honor of the 81,508 votes in our race for mayor of Minneapolis. My CM and I got tattoos at Nokomis Tattoo. It’s the stone arch bridge with our campaign’s three-line logo as the water below the bridge. Thanks to everyone that put their faith in me with their vote, esp. campaign team / volunteers.
Imagine building balloons all day, and ONE of them sells for more than you make in a day. That’s not work. It’s involuntary servitude, at best.
Imagine your smoke alarm is blaring. The hallway smells like smoke. Your children are coughing. But someone says, “We cannot be sure it is a fire. It could just be steam from the shower.” And because another explanation exists, no one reaches for the extinguisher. Read at jazzhampton.substack.com
Imagine the Los Angeles Lakers were permitted to appoint Phil Jackson, their legendary former head coach, as a playoff referee. Imagine the Lakers owner then went on television and said he expected Jackson to remember who gave him his opportunity. Read the full article at jazzhampton.substack.com

Be safe at the airport. As a matter of fact, be safer everywhere thanks to @turnsignl Promo code: TSA Valid through March.
The smoke detector in your house goes off too often. Burnt toast. A sensitive battery. After a while, you stop reacting. It’s nothing. Then one night the alarm goes off again, and you roll over in bed because you think it is the same false signal. Jazzhampton.substack.com
“In Minneapolis, skepticism is not sabotage. It is civic participation. It is what happens when a community has seen, more than once, that what was written on paper did not match what was captured on camera.” Read this in full, and my other pieces, all for free at: Jazzhampton.substack.com
Jazzhampton.substack.com Being acknowledged alongside @vanjones.bsky.social and @donlemonofficial.bsky.social was not on my Jan. bingo card! To my amazing substack subscribers, I’m grateful for your support. The journey’s just beginning! I promised to stay committed, and this is just a small part!
Don’t let this headline fool you. In Minneapolis, we are still under constant attack from our Federal Government.
Alex, and ICU nurse, was k*lled by Federal agents today. Here is my breakdown/opinion on the video. Let me know if you’d like me to splice the videos together for those who would be willing to watch.
The Levy has broken. I’m going to consistently share. I have to.
ICE shows up for a $50,000 signing bonus. In Minneapolis, we show up for our neighbors. For free. Every time.
FACTS about the “immigration crackdown.” Only ~7% had convictions for violent crimes. In DC over 80% had NO criminal record. ICE custody data showed roughly 72% had no conviction at all. It’s just our neighbors.
Thank you, @governorwalz.mn.gov for all you have done. We are better because of you and your work.
Thank you to the 81,508 people who voted for me. I have never regretted this decision, not even for a second. What is next? I will share very soon.
