Honestly if you are either so arrogant or so stupid you think people aren't going to notice this blatant IP theft, you deserve every bit of legal and social punishment the universe dishes out to you. This is inexcusable.
Today was an awful day, but I just got the novelization of KRULL in the mail, so that balances everything out.
Harvard Square in Cambridge had a place literally called "The Pit" and it was just a space next to the T stop where teenagers and college kids and punks and weirdos would hang out and play music and meet up and just exist and no one cared about the ruckus and it was GREAT.
Ran into a peer from another department while getting lunch today. I hadn't seen him in person in a couple of years so I didn't recognize him, and I realized why when he smiled and pointed to his grey hair and beard and said, "We're getting old!". Anyway, hi. It's 90 degrees out this afternoon.
Me after 20 years in my job, to the eighth or ninth person half my age I've seen in that position.
This little old lady was SO BRAVE AND GOOD yesterday when she had surgery to remove a cancerous lump from her side. She's now resting comfortably on mild painkillers and eating all the treats and Churu she wants. ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
Bought my first pair of Vans at the age of 49! I'm loving how light and comfortable they are. I haven't owned sneakers in probably 20+ years, so finding a pair I like is a relief. And I gotta say, this blue really pops.
Tens of thousands of dollars to renovate a classroom where we had to replace this ceiling tile multiple times a year because of overflow from the HVAC collection pan, and I peek into the room that just had the new tiles put in to find...this.
No joke, in my small town in Maine, they did this for the K-8 school. (My junior high class was a whopping 17 kids).
We got some rough news tonight about this little old lady. The next couple of weeks are going to be pretty difficult, so please send her all the love.
I hope this guy understands that one day he's going to get the rug pulled out from under him and the system that made him wealthy will fail him and all his rich friends will block his number and his wife is going to leave him and he's going to be SHOCKED by it all.
We saw MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE this afternoon. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Was it popcorn goofball fun? Yes. Did it feel like a silly love letter to something many folks my age loved as kids? Yes. Was it kinda awkward and dumb at times? Yes. Will I see it again? Yes. DO I HAVE THE POWER?!?! Obviously.
I had this foldout poster from Time Life Books' THE EPIC OF FLIGHT on my wall over my bed growing up. At the time I thought being a fighter pilot was the coolest fucking job on the planet and I still think that, and if I'd had good eyesight, it would have been my dream job. Alas though, not to be.
Thought this little old lady wasn't breathing and I just about passed out from anxiety. She's fine, just sleepy. 😣😭😓
Okay look, I write WW2 adventure novels, I've written Nazi characters, I have books written about the various German armed forces. But at no time whatsoever have I had a fuckin' NAZI PHASE because, objectively, Nazis are the scum of the earth and they should all be machinegunned straight to hell.
Bathroom was right off this stairwell and this door leads to who knows where, bet that's the ghost archives.
Apologies for the less than enthusiastic expression on my mug, the sun is sunny, be I'm here at BookCon!
My K through 8 school for a town of about 1,000 people had a library with such gems as ABLE TEAM #8: ARMY OF DEVILS and well, we all know how that turned out for me:
Been kinda struggling to find a groove reading-wise, so I decided that for the next few months, OCEANS ARE NOW BATTLEFIELDS.
Whenever someone asks me if it's worth it to be part of an anthology, this is the kinda thing I show them. I don't think I earned even $5 from it, and the book was published almost seven years ago. So if you want to be part of an anthology, just be forewarned, don't do it for the money.
I'm only one-eighth Irish, so I am limiting my celebrations to a couple of Smithwicks pints and some leftover roasted potatoes with mushrooms and peppers. Sláinte or somesuch! 🍻
My work desktop died over the weekend. I'm beyond annoyed right now.
