I love these little postcard cabins. A perfect getaway for our anniversary (30 years!)
I just expanded our game store's inventory from about 3,000 items to almost 30,000. Had to get a storage unit for overflow. Wouldn't even all fit in the store. Going to be a fun year.
I still enjoy writing code, but it just doesn't compare with the frustration + satisfaction of fixing physical hardware. I just reconstructed shoulder buttons and replaced an LCD on this Nintendo DSi. It feels like defusing a bomb, such a thrill 😀
Stopped in yesterday at the new game shop our family is running. Here are some pics.
I just scheduled next week's batch of Laravel tips. I had the soundtrack from Inception playing, so it felt super urgent and dramatic. Makes any mundane task way more exciting. Share in the fun at masteringlaravel.io

@johnrudolphdrexler.com Played this with my oldest son tonight. We both enjoyed it! I’m bringing it to a conf next month to play with people too.
It was super motivating to bump into random devs at Laracon that thanked me for my daily tips. Next week of tips is ready to go!
@ianlandsman.com just listened to the pod. Tell @aaronfrancis.com he can use my vehicle for a video shoot 😎
Doorbell footage shows my father was an accomplice in this whole affair. 🤦♂️
The things I wouldn’t expect to have to deal with as a parent of children who drive. Exhibit A. Weird things showing up outside the house.

My son found a Laravel, Elm, and Ruby sticker for his bass. These kids are alright.

I called the DMV, I got a real human in 2 minutes, and they solved my problem immediately (finding and applying a missing payment for my personalized plates). I attribute this amazing service to the phone agent clearly being a fan of the framework.
This isn't technically accurate since the first year of our podcast wasn't hosted on Transistor, but a cool milestone all the same!
Another set of Laravel tips drafted and ready to go out to the Mastering Laravel newsletter this week. I really need to figure out a way to have this pay the bills. It's one of my favorite things to do each week. Sign up at masteringlaravel.io if you want in!
