Saw Nolan’s take on The Odyssey. I thought it quite good. The sound, the look, the scope, the gritty fantastical sequences, the acting, which for the most part was universally good, with some performances leaning into great, all worked for me.
…and we’re currently rewatching True Detective season one. Ligottian bleakness done well—and yes, I know of the plagiarism issues—that had a chance to be great, but then they chickened out on the landing. Still, I dig the vibe, Cohle’s mindset.
Mike Thorn is a fantastic writer. This collection is top-notch horror. Yeah, it’s my current read.

Reading is on my agenda. Last Days by Brian Evenson is one of my current reads. I'd read the excellent "The Brotherhood of Mutilation," the first novella (?) of the trilogy a few years ago. Time to catch up as the third part is on the way later this year.

Doing some novella edits while I wait for the next stage of novel edits from the publisher. Passed the time earlier and saw Backrooms. Quite good. Great atmosphere and general weirdness. Worked for me.
