Every year when my grandkids are out of school for Christmas break, I make up a gift box full of foods that might not have had before. That's when I found the chocolate peanut butter. Here are a few of the other items I included. Other things might be gourmet mac and cheese, unusual crackers and
I had forgotten how much I love tomatoes and cottage cheese. (Yes, I washed the tomatoes throughly) I had my knees shot with cortisone today so I have to keep off my feet as much as possible the next 3 days. So no standing and cooking for me. This hit the spot.
I love egg salad. I like to put crispy beet strings and banana peppers on it. Lettuce, beets strings, banana peppers and egg salad on toasted multigrain bread. Geez, now I'm hungry.
Yesterday I made bean and rice burritos with leftover Cajun red beans and rice from Monday. That's how I did my Taco Tuesday. I love Mexican street corn and those look delicious. I make what I call street corn tacos using Stouffer's street corn casserole and top with the usual taco toppings.
Appears my Walmart didn't get the message. Last week I paid 6.27 and today it is 7.23. That's obviously an increase, not decrease. Not good at percentages but that may be 15% increase. Yep, did the math. It's an increase of 15.32%.
It's wonderful. Especially with Hawaiian macaroni salad. That's how the local eat it. I've never been to Hawaii but my native frien, Miss Buzzy, from there shares recipes and her culture with me.
So disappointed in my breakfast. Only 1 of my Boston cream pie toaster strudel had filling in it.🤔 However, the macaroni salad I made yesterday turned out great. Only 1 problem. I accidentally put mustard in my dressing. I always put mustard in my potato salad but leave it out of macaroni salad.
Not sure what other libraries offer but the Cincy one is great with lots of options. For someone now living on a retirement budget, the library is my best deal and it's all for free. Books, mags, movies, plays, music etc. Check and see what yours offers!
This year's pickle fest is over but there's always next year.
Due to health issues, I can't drive so I order groceries also. Got some salad cubes in my order yesterday as I'm craving macaroni salad. Didn't even put the jar in the pantry as I'm going to use it today.
If you're not putting green tomato relish on your hotdogs, you're missing out. So delicious.
It's been 15 weeks since my dog passed away from cancer but still 1st thing I do every morning is to look for him. And then I remember he's not there. Nutmeg, I sure hope you are living your best life at the Rainbow Bridge. I miss you. Lots.
Breakfast time. Trying out a new Cheerios. I love Cheerios. Except the strawberry and blueberry one. Surprised me as I usually like anything blueberry. Of course, I still need to try a few other Cheerios. And I meant to have strawberries in it but forgot to buy them. Bananas it is. #breakfast
I was wrong. Apparently there are 3 radio stations with WKRP call sign. And 101.9 is not one of them.
Another one of my fav breakfasts. Simplistic but tasty. I normally would use sausage gravy but I had this in the freezer from the last time I made chicken fried steak. It works.
There's a lot of things I ate as a kid that I have a hard time finding except at an outrageous price on the internet so when I go home to Virginia, I stock up. Banner sausage, fried with onions & egg. Fish roe along with eggs and toast. Canned salmon (easy to find) with cornmeal pancakes.
One of my favorite breakfasts. I remember as a kid we made our own scrapple, smoked our hams & bacon, made souse or headcheese. Memories. #breakfast
I don't know. The police and animal control went to their apt the next day but they had moved out over night. I filed a complaint with the state of Virginia but they never found them to prosecute. Licorice was a sweet dog.
I am so sorry for your loss. It's hard to lose a pet. My heart goes out to you.
I am so sorry for your loss. It hurts to lose a pet. Esp when you don't know its their last day. My heart goes out to you.
Went to see the Auschwitz exhibit here in Cincinnati. It was very sobering & hard to see. Especially the shoes and clothing of the children. I could not help but recognize how history is repeating itself, esp here in America. #Holocaust #Auschwitz
My Nutmeg was a rescue. I got him when he was 2 yrs old. At first, he had lot of anxiety issues but for the most part we worked it out and had 12 great years together. Until 6 wks ago when he passed away due to cancer.
Having a lot of pain today, so took the easy way out. Blueberry muffins and a fruit cup for breakfast. Of course, accompanied by the ever present iced coffee.
I decided to not be lazy so mission accomplished. It may not be the prettiest breakfast but was certainly delicious. Next time I think I'll add a slice of ham.
Breakfast time. Cinnamon protein Cheerios, mango peach applesauce and iced coffee. Yep, I'm a gourmet cook. #breakfast
I've been to the Cape Henry lighthouse (both old and new) but I have 2 favorites. Hatteras Island and Assateague Island. I have a thing for lighthouses.
Since I skipped lunch Iunch, I had an early supper. Tomorrow I plan to mix the cabbage in with the potatoes, topped with cheese and bake. Serve leftover corn beef with it. #stpatricksday #cornbeef #cabbage #food
I not sure how accurate this is as polls don't always pan out but it's encouraging. Dr. Acton would be an excellent governor and Sherrod Brown should have been re-elected last time, not Bernie Moreno.
