This could have been much worse. Last night around 8:20 p.m., JCSO deputies responded to a reported fire on Meyers Gulch Road. Multiple callers reported smoke and flames, with flames reaching approximately 20 feet. When deputies arrived, they found a shed on fire very close to a home.

STAGE 2 FIRE BAN Sheriff Reggie Marinelli has ordered a Stage 2 Fire Ban for unincorporated Jefferson County effective 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 2. ALL FIREWORKS are illegal during the Stage 2 Fire Ban. This includes fireworks that may otherwise be considered legal.

Thank you to our Wildland Fire Management Team for assisting West Metro Fire Rescue on the Fox Hollow fire last night. The fire was caused by lightning, and West Metro was in command and managed the incident.
