I've seen the image on the right many times, but never in context. I assumed it was some tiny queer club at a college. But, uh, the event that the college-student lesbian activists and their poster were promoting also had @gloriasteinem.bsky.social and Margaret Sloan?! www.jstor.org/stable/25783...
This scene from Scandal, s2, ep. 15 is from 2013. One year before I heard the term asexuality. Two years before the ruling whose anniversary we celebrate today. It is most focused on singlism and amatonormativity, but not just “unmarried” singleness but “not interested in anyone” singleness.
Please be aware this is absolute bullshit and one guy's extremely evangelical ego. No one else is saying any of this.
Your last saved meme is your moral philosophy Not sure if this counts in the social media sense of meme, but it was rather literally memed (a series of repetition but with the words slightly changed) and is 100% my moral philosophy
For reals. Do not believe them when they tell you they are too pretty to cause problems. They are sneaky like that
❤️🔥💯 "Christian or not, the work it takes to separate another person in your mind from their humanity by stigmatizing them is work that rips you apart from your own humanity." Also don't miss this CRUCIAL paragraph! This is consistent with everything I hear from my BIPOC queer Christian siblings:
You've heard it said that God doesn't make mistakes. This is true. Your queerness is not accidental. You were told Jesus can heal this part of you, if you want it hard enough. But your transness is not an illness in need of a cure.
New research participation opportunity, specifically for many of you or for people you may know! Even if you don't qualify, please spread the word to Christian aces who do.
My friend sent a panel photo! I'm Captain Marvel and yes, that is a little Goose the space cat with me of course
Yesterday's panels included an incredible panel on Peggy Carter, anatomy and physiology consultants for animation and animatronics, stories from Marvel cosplayers who visit children's hospitals, and merch and media announcements for the Lord of the Rings universe.
Had a great time hearing from these ladies, including my Whovian friend @magicalgirlmarina.bsky.social about female characters in comics and related media. No more killing off women for male character arcs! More powerful friendships and diverse representation!!
Now hearing from Disney legend storyboard artist Floyd Norman! His art and animation have spanned from Jungle Book to Sleeping Beauty to Monster's Inc.
Such a great LGBTQIA in Fantasy panel today at Wonder Con Anaheim! Also the gorgeous, courageous, and talented @nicoleamaines.bsky.social knows I exist now and answered my audience question about finding hope, so floating on fangirl happiness. 🥰
My white person bird decor is, as you might assume, unconventional while still technically qualifying. Much like my gender.
You can't defend them and then say people who encounter them are "putting themselves in harm's way" without the obvious conclusion that ICE = harm, potentially fatal
Having a hard time wrapping my mind around this one. Catherine O'Hara was so funny and full of life. What a treasure lost. 🥺
Join us on Tuesday for a livestream benefit! The Harris Dault family is preparing to flee the United States in order to protect their trans kid. $14,000 out of $53,641 raised so far! Monthly gifts are the most helpful! Read more: jenniferharrisdault.substack.com/p/fleeing-ag...
My neurodivergent Gilmore-Girl-infused brain gets stuck on comedy bits and pop culture references, which had to end when I accidentally called a beloved professor "kid" in a 1950s noir way
Incredible turnout. At least half a mile x both sides of the street and down the side streets where it got crowded.
If you see this, quote with the energy you bring to BlueSky
I can't do my work without allies and musicians and therapists and pastors and activists/educators and writers and researchers and every queer and trans person willing to be out and show the next generation: "I was there too. It won't be this way forever."
Had the BEST time tonight hearing @DerekWebb perform his new album and hanging out with @celestefinally and many others working for a more queer-affirming world. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ We can't hold all the burdens of the fight for liberation alone, but together, we can contribute our pieces to make the world better.
