Now watching. I don’t expect this to be good, but with a cast of Robert Davi, Steven Bauer, Brigitte Nielsen, Sonny Chiba, and Jan-Michael Vincent, I’m hoping I’m at least not bored.
3/4 of the way through A Violent Masterpiece and absolutely loving it. May stay in bed today and finish it.
I could probably go through the Criterion Closet again and have four, different picks, but, right now, this is where I’m at.
Best first-time watch of July. Such a staggering work of independent cinema. I regret how long it’s taken me to watch it.

I’m 100 pages from finishing Angel Down, and, goddamn, it has been an experience. The concept of the whole novel being one, run-on sentence keeps the tension elevated, but that only serves the already intense atmosphere. What a phenomenal work of fiction.
