I think this quote suggests that a lot of the Blanche and slush fund problems are coming from vulnerable GOP senators, who don’t want to vote for him but don’t want Trump’s wrath either.

This is absolutely correct, and commend a conservative for stating the obvious. Of course Trump and Republicans don’t actually care if the WHCD is held there, they want the ballroom to wine and dine their donors for bribes like Trump does at Mar-a-Lago.

The only other time Republicans get unified this way is when they give their billionaire donors a tax cut, and of course those are the people who will be getting the invites. The ballroom is basically a giant gold-plated auction block for selling out the American people to GOP billionaires.
