A bit more done, still plenty to go at in small parts. Started at 7am and just done, give or take an hour or so doing some bits in the house. Many moving parts so had to wait for some components to dry off. The quick dry worked well. #histscalemodels
Reason to read instructions carefully. Image 1, K17 shows fitted this way notch forward, when you look in image 2 its a different way, it will fit either way btw. The issue is K8 and 9 will only fit if its done as 2nd image. The notch allows the arm to lift as in image 4 for storage. Did a dry run.
Today's work on the 88mm gun. All the parts for this section are now done and primed. All dry fit. I need to do the top coat ( unsure on grey or camo) in sections to ensure coverage, also to decide if theres chipping etc. Im enjoying this kit. A bit to show in another post in a mo. #histscalemodels
Thats the gun section complete. Went together well. There will be lots of pre-painting to do before complete assembly. I showed it the wife I said look at the length of this, in true fashion I was ridiculed, belittled and made to feel inadequate. 😃 They win every time. #histscalemodels
The next project for the summer is a big one, the I Love Kit Flak 88. #histscalemodels
Tamiya 1:48 Challenger II completed. Not a bad little kit, which tuns out to be big for 1:48. #histscalemodels
Had a good modelling day today, wife out at work....so I stuck stuff together and did some painting. #histscalemodels
The one in the left aftermarket exhaust basket, nicely detailed and looks the part, the one on the right the airfix one, a solid piece on the clear sprue section. Before I knew of the aftermarket one I started to drill out the holes. Poor show from Airfix on a new mould kit #histscalemodels
All the component parts together on the Challenger. Some painting needs to be done prior to putting it all together. My other bits to finish the Stalwart should be here today. #histscalemodels
Whilst i wait for some bits for the Stalwart i thought id make a start on this in 1:48. British Army Challenger 2 #histscalemodels
Built as much as I can for now before undercoat and spray, the mask is ordered for the windows is lost in the post so im waiting for another to be sent out...So this Stalwart is stalled for now. 😁 #histscalemodels
Managed some more today. Cab sorted. All the drive gear done and rear storage started. #histscalemodels
Some progress on the Stalwart today. Doing the interior before sealing it all in. #histscalemodels
Completed, the Airfix 1:35 Alvis FV603 Saracen Mk.5. Not a bad kit all told. With some spares in the kit I reckon there is another variant on the way. #histscalemodels
These guys arrived for the stash. Not got a vehicle for them but you never know, there may be a sale or two soon. #histscalemodels
Body all primed up, just a bit of fine sanding to sort then a touch up. The front hatch will be open along eith the rear doors when complete #histscalemodels
A bit of progress. To be honest the fit of the body is piss poor. You need three hands to get it together and it really needs to go together all at once, sides, top, rear and three front parts. There is gaps, gap i didnt think would be there. #histscalemodels
Lower section of the Saracen done. This needs painting now along with the inner sides and roof before its all put together. So some work on the side panels before painting and then move on a bit more #histscalemodels
This one as only just come into the stash, but im going to build this one next. #histscalemodels
Moved some stuff around to make a clear shelf for the big stuff. #histscalemodels
1. Hobbyboss German Sd.Kfz 181 "Tiger" mid in 1/16 Scale. A pretty much straight forward kit, the axles were a bit fiddly to sort. The urret had to be attached prior to closing the sections up. Added some detail with stowage and troops. #histscalemodels
3. Some shots of the Tank with just the crew. These are all from Ali-express. I spent around £70 on extras, which for this size isn't bad. #histscalemodels
4. A 1:72 Tiger for comparison. Overall not bad, all the fit was right om sure its not historically accurate, that doesn't bother me. Enjoy #histscalemodels
