Ahhh Wasteland... I played the fuck out of the original Wasteland back in my DOS Days...
Family has been playing Horrified: Ravenloft over the last week. It is a blast. Oldest seems to want to get into some Ravenloft Lore...
The bar is so low for in person movie going experiences that the new standard for “epic cinema” is jarringly square 1.43:1 ration which is pretty much the same an old tube tv— Yes. 70mm IMAX is mostly square. IMAX corp has convinced everyone we need the framing ratio of an 80s-era nature documentary
Allied Security bro has been taking up entire front of muni train for a dozen stops now. Finally gets off at west portal.
Celebrating the release of the new Novel from my favorite Love is Real Buckaroo ( @chucktingle.bsky.social ) by reposting my slightly inappropriate bookseller photo that celebrated the release of his first novel, Camp Damascus. Go out and buy his new book, Fabulous Bodies!

On Tuesday I saw Le foto di Gioia (Delirium) in the theater. It was directed by Lamberto Bava in 1987 and was crazy & over the top but not in the way one would expect. Good acting and high production values and gorgeous sets. If Hammer Studios made a gallio it would look like this…
These posts ended up on my timeline next to each other and I think the universe is trying to tell me something.
Shit like this always feels like a threat and after a year or so of feeling uneasy everytine LinkedIn sends me these peeping tom messages, I realized I can just… unsubscribe from them? wild.
I got to roll dice with my Kids today for the first time in 5 weeks. A xorn was defeated and negotiations with a drow who has been plotting a coup for 200 years went welll. So greatful to have these opportunities to play rpgs my kids and their friends.
Art challenge , but instead of art, your nerdiest original memes! I’ll start!
the sky is white with fog. It’s not even close to dark. I assume mayor silver spoon has the fireworks launching from the bridge while it’s still daylight.
I have to get up to speed on some Enterprise AI tools for work, and I can not understand how this unreliable shit is supposed to make people MORE productive. I'm constantly holding its hand, keeping it from going off the rails.
Just finished Shards Of Earth by @aptshadow.bsky.social. I had very high expectations and it lived up to them. Exactly the kind of smart, wide screen space opera that I’ve been craving. Cool “human diaspora“ and “crowded galaxy” style story being told. jumping right into book 2.
I’m headed to @alamodrafthouse.bsky.social #SanFrancisco for tonight’s Terror Tuesday screening of Evil Dead (2013) in 35mm! If your in the area, join Me! 🙂
Its probably a specious/phantom association but the moon sized “architects“ of @aptshadow.bsky.social ’s Shards of Earth, repeatedly described by their spiked and barbed landscape made me think of The Shrike in the Hyperion books.
Him: Do you have any books by Austin Osman Spare? Me: Does he write SF, fantasy or horror? That's all we carry. Him: Well, kind of. Its about his beliefs and stuff. #BooksellerLilfe www.wikiart.org/en/austin-os...
I was just reminiscing about Bill Sienkiewicz & Alan Moore's Brought To Light graphic novel & how it was first eye-opening step for me on a long political journey. Friend pointed Moore would probably be pleased to learn that that was my first exposure to his work en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brought...
wait. is his "review" his short story, "But We try not to act like it." archive.org/details/bwb_...
A nice quiet day at the bookstore today while most of the city is at the Pride parade. I sold a teenager their first @stephengrahamjones.com book: the double of Babysitter Lives/Killer On the road! #PlantingSeeds
Happy pride day to my two amazing children. They are in today’s parade in #SanFrancisco and I am so grateful they live in this community where they don’t have to be ashamed of who they are and that teaches them how to fight for equity and justice. #StonewallWasARiot
The Cemeteries of Amalo trilogy by Katherine Addison are the perfect mix of Fantasy and Mystery. I love this series.
