The S&P index got to within 0.36 points of the all-time high (7,002.28) before retreating. Traders watching the board like, what if we go beyond the all-time high? What if there's certain to be a global economic crisis but the stock market keeps going upwards anyway?
Both the NASDAQ and the S&P stock indices are basically kissing their all-time highs but haven't exceeded them yet. Big moment. If they go down from here, that's a very bearish sign. If they go UP from here, it's an even worse sign: that money has fully decoupled from reality itself.
