Behold my 16 year old basketball player son's first Biscoff Caramel Cheesecake (he also makes an amazing Key Lime Pie from scratch.) Now he's a pro and sells it.I He's been helping at the stove since age 3. Now he wants to study biochemistry. Cooking/baking is awesome science!
Heading over to my indie bookstore to pick up a copy of "Careless People" b/c Meta's lawyer-bullying of the author meant she had to LEAVE AN INTERVIEW that was about discussing her book. So I don't think Meta's intervention is having the desired effect. So, consider reading #CarelessPeople w/ me.

Colleague just sent me this. Gas is more expensive in the US, but almost impossible to get/afford in Ethiopia right now. People rely on buses for transport & trucks for goods/food. Hospitals and offices rely on fuel for generators since the power grid is not 100% dependable. Situation is critical.
A favorite snack in Ethiopia! Called “fendisha”…served with coffee ceremony. I like it with a little berbere sprinkled on it.

I'm trying to find and grab onto small joys with both hands these days. This weekend, my youngest (whose passions are basketball, biochemistry & baking) made a cheesecake for the first time from scratch and it was a freaking poem of a dessert. Just in awe of the curiosity and talent of both kids

But re-tooling wood windows is a lost art, and time consuming (although the investment pays off if you stay in that house for a time.) Obligatory photo of the sashes I was working on while pregnant back in 2005. 44 windows, most with 2 sashes each. Doing that once was enough for me.
I turn 60 this year, solidly in menopause, so “hot and humid” sums it up, actually.
They have an overview of their factuality and bias ratings, trying to dig into which third party orgs they are relying on. The visual interface is very easy to scan.
Impressed so far with a subscription to Ground News. Interesting to quickly scan and get a sense of bias and factuality in news reports, still getting a handle on how trustworthy the assessments are.
Ehhhhh. I don't buy it...that sounds like an excuse. Couldn't they just set those guardrails back 10-12 feet from the edge and contain visitors away from the edge of the roof?
