Author, cat wrangler I write Paranormal Women's Fiction, Queer Romance, Modern-with-Magic. I'm foaming at the mouth left wing, I live in New England, and I drive a stick shift.
@karidru.bsky.social I went to Lowe's for supplies and have hung the first (of many) tiny paintings!! Thanks for the help! 🥰
It doesn't have a sheen, though I do love sheening inks. It's a purple black, but on the red side? Maroon is slightly too brown, purple is often too vivid. I have a nearly full jar, so this is mourning in advance.
Sketching is a pencil (or digital) thing for me, and art for other people ends up being watercolors with Pitt pens or Microns over them, or acrylics. I *love* making tiny acrylic paintings. My house is overflowing with tiny paintings.
So, this weekend was one of my husband's 3-day ones. We went to a nice restaurant on the water and delivered eggs (we have hens, do you want eggs?). The staff were happy. We played pokemon go yesterday, driving around to catch fridge dragons. Today we slept in and will relax indoors all day.
It's bread THAT'S A CROISSANT. We have to keep ours in the freezer because the house is super warm and bread molds fast, but it toasts amazingly and is so so good.
Small round pasta, cooked until soft. It's a lot like tapioca pearls when eaten. Acini di Pepe is the name for the shape. The US Midwest has many... uh. Odd foods.
Frog Eye salad is a cold sweet dish made with small pasta shapes (or tapioca pearls), chilled fruit pieces (pineapple, banana, mandarin orange), whipped cream, sugar, mini marshmallows, and coconut shavings. The name comes from the way the small pasta looks.
This is a cat checkpoint: show the most recent cat photo on your phone. *BOOP* you’re it
I'm going back to making art; it's relaxing and good for my mental health. Yesterday was #aceo sized abstracts (I do these a lot; I love the size). I never know what to do with them when I'm done. Do I leave them for strangers to find (free art)? Do I try to sell them? They pile up, if I keep them.
Repost with your first crush (if you had one). He went on such cool adventures.
Aww, baby! 🥰😍🥰 Right now, we have three cats, all tabbies. Tabby cats are joy!
He had an excellent Resting Sarcastic Face, but was also a HUGE doofus. Bleps for days.
He was an absolutely excellent cat. He liked to walk on leashes, he liked being out in the rain (with his raincoat on), he slept between us under the covers, he was super demanding about ALL THE TREATS. He was murder on the one poor mouse which tried to make a home in our laundry area. Perfection.
We adopted a cat who'd been left with his siblings at the shelter by his human. He was AMAZING, so we asked why they were left. Turns out, she had been in hospice and didn't last long enough for any of the cats to be adopted; our cat was the last of the set. He looked for her for months.
My big boy Amos keeps pressing random F-keys. I don't know what he's hoping for, but I'm onto him.
Ah, another nudist. My cat Luna keeps "losing" her collar. Last time, I found it UNDER a box of yarn I haven't moved in months.
Tonight's dinner: Bang Bang Chicken and Shrimp. Tasty, peanutty, easy. The hardest part is the frying, honestly. I have extra of the curry sauce and the peanut sauce. The peanut is going on noodles tomorrow, and we might eat the curry sauce as soup, with more rice. #FoodSky #AmCooking
He says, "squeak!" He's 20 pounds, a total scaredy-cat, but will totally eat any wet food you happen to have.
