I’m visiting my mum in North Wales. I thought it would be a good idea to go for a walk in the peak of the storm yesterday evening. I’m now sitting in a pair of my dead father’s trousers waiting for mine to dry because I only brought one pair up. I have some regrets.

I teach photography and have often used this photo not only to talk about the superb composition of the image, but also how extraordinary it is considering the immense difficulty of lugging a camera and tripod that will have weighed around 15 kilos. Here’s one of my favourites…
