Just bought tickets for this #reggae at the weekend. Looking forward to it. Jerry Dammers should play quite a deep selection - I'm hoping so anyway. Don't really know the other acts yet - other than Misty In Roots
100% agree. Yet when Isaac Hayes pulls a similar look - it's ultra-cool (imo)
In fairness, reducing the price of a 99 flake to 99p should go down well in Clacton
Thanks to Spotify helpfully providing the lyrics, I'm trying to sing along with Bobby Darin, but I think my timing must be out or something
Gonna give this game a try tonight. I tend to love stuff set in feudal Japan.
I feel like this is a hugely underrated dub album. Perhaps because it's modern. I listen to this more often than 'King Tubby's Meets The Rockers Uptown'. Lovely #Satdubday business.
I watched the film: 'Green Book' last night. Wow! What a film! Eye- opening and moving, with beautiful acting and a plot centred around music. Right up my street. Recommend.
If I had a spare room, I'd fill it with fans in the winter - to sell in the summer - then buy heaters in the summer to sell in the winter. Argos are selling a low end fan for £60. I am unconvinced it's their lowest price ever
Life Of Contradiction - Joe Higgs. I've tried to get into this #reggae album so many times and it just never clicked with me. Today - because of @danball57.bsky.social - I tried again and now cannot fathom what the Hell was wrong with my ears all those other times. It's flipping BRILLIANT!
I have just found a picture of Nigel Farage down the pub - having a drink and supporting our lads, later on tonight:
Congratulations to Curacao. But I'm starting to think that perhaps a career in gambling on sports outcomes is not for me. Thank goodness I only wager in pence. I'd feel bloody terrible if I was losing in £££s.
Good for you. Our Winnie is a rescue cat too. Very, very cautious and oh so gentle <3 - just not too bright.
I note that Paul Simon appears to have signed a bin in Mayfair a while back. Perhaps this is just him, maturing from introspective beauty and lovely music to incoherent abuse and shit spelling
ANAKA have been actively helping the victims of the Belfast pogrom. Now we can help them support the people and groups impacted by racist attacks too. Please donate/share. chuffed.org/project/1854...
Found out that my amazing colleague spent time during the horrors of Belfast last night - giving lifts and food drop offs assisting the Anaka Women's Collective. A true hero and an inspiration! This image is from the AWC Instagram page. I'm told a 'donate' page will be up soon. I'll share that asap
If The Telegraph are making up Zack Polanski quotes now, they may as well go the whole hog:
Your bike looks well cool. By chance, I've literally just taken a photo of my 30 year old bike. I know it's a different styles of bike but nevertheless, I'm stuck by how much the shape of the frame has changed.
