Sweet suffering again, and here's me still waiting in my out of pocket expenses from 15yrs ago; including dv recorder, minidisc recorder, microphone, flights, hotels, mileage, and subsistence, wholly incurred in performance of my duty/employment.

Sinn Féin spokesperson on and Sport, Joanna Byrne TD has secured an agreement from the Public Accounts Committee to write to the FAl asking for clarity around the legal and financial implications of public money funding the Nations League fixtures against Israel.
Deputy Byrne also expressed her belief that, should the fixtures proceed, that the FAl should come before PAC for further scrutiny.
Teachta Byrne said:
"There are several issues raised by Irish Sport for Palestine and the Stop The Game campaign that should be examined by the Public Accounts Committee, including:
1. The financial costs of fulfilling these two fixtures to the Irish taxpayer.
The FAl has provided no cost assessment.
2. The financial cost of not fulfiling these two fixtures to the Irish taxpayer.
The FAI has provided a cost assessment of €5.5m to €10.3M+, with no references to validate these costs.
3. The legal implications for Ireland using public money to fund matches against Israel whom the state knows is practising a system of apartheid and committing a genocide.
4. The legal implications for the FAl and Irish football using public money to play against the Israel Football Association whom they know, and have publicly acknowledged, are in grievous breaches of FIFA and UEFA statutes. In 2024, an advisory opinion from the UN confirmed that international human rights law applies to sports federations, in accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

Ireland should fulfil these fixtures against Israel.
We all know Israel continues to commit genocide, practice apartheid, and that the FA is in breach of both FIFA and UEFA's own statutes.

FAI Statement on Ringmahon
Rangers
Following a disciplinary hearing into Ringmahon Rangers AFC's failure to fulfil their fixture against Bohemian FC in the second round of the Club Orange Men's FAI Senior Cup, an Independent Disciplinary Committee has imposed the following sanctions on Ringmahon Rangers AFC:
- A five-year ban from participating in the Club Orange Men's FAI Senior Cup;
- A three-year ban from participating in the FAI
Intermediate Cup; and
- Monetary fine of €5,000.
The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) would like to remind all clubs of their obligations to fulfil fixtures in accordance with FAI Disciplinary Regulations and competition rules.
The FAl is committed to protecting the integrity of its competitions and ensuring that all fixtures are respected in the interests of participating clubs, players, officials, match officials, supporters and the wider football community.
In accordance with the FAI Disciplinary Regulations, this decision may be appealed.

Tonight's result is a disappointing indictment of the Football Association of Ireland and does not reflect the will of the Irish public or professional players. The Stop the Campaign remains resolute that Ireland will not play Israel in the Nations League Championship.
We respect the secret ballot. However, serious questions remain about how this vote was brought forward, including the denial of an initial request for proper debate on the match, the failure to address the questions brought by co-proposers before requisitions were sent, the three week delay between receipt of requisitions and them being deemed ineligible, the wording of the motion and the misrepresentation of the PFAl's position. We will be seeking clarity on those governance issues in the days
The facts have not changed. 63% of professional players and 76% of the public support a boycott. The risks of refusing this fixture have been overstated. There is no automatic relegation, the financial penalties have been exaggerated, and an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is available.
Our solidarity with Palestinian people is unshaken. 568 Palestinian players have been killed while FIFA stayed silent. Players have been detained. Sports grounds have been bulldozed.
This is a football-led, grassroots campaign and it continues. No player or worker should be pressured into taking part in this fixture. Trade union and legal protections are in place for anyone who refuses.

FAI Statement
The Board of the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) thanks members of its General Assembly for endorsing its responsibility to fulfil its obligations in relation to UEFA fixtures.
At an Extraordinary General Meeting on Wednesday, July 8th, members were asked to vote on the following ordinary motion:
"While acknowledging the strength of feeling regarding support for Palestine and the upcoming UEFA Men's Nations League fixtures, that the members recognise the profound impact that any non-fulfilment of UEFA fixtures would have on Irish football as a whole and on its future development, and accordingly endorses the Association fulfilling its obligations in respect of those fixtures."
The motion passed by 75 votes to 32 by 114 members in attendance (with three abstentions), which provides the FAI Board with the support to continue making decisions in the interest of Irish football.
The Association understands and respects the views expressed by its members, as well as players and staff, supporters, campaigners, members of the public and the Irish footballing community in relation to the 2026-27 UEFA Nations League fixtures between Ireland and Israel.
The Association will continue to liaise with various stakeholders and support the Ireland squad for its upcoming UEFA Nations League campaign.

DUBLIN COURT CHARGES
Dublin, Wednesday.
In the Dublin District Court yesterday, before Mr. Little,
John Joseph Kelly, Verschoyle place, who described himself as chairman of the Irish Referees' Association; Poter Carroll, Patrick street, and Patrick J. Barrington, Belvedere avenue, were charged with conspiring together on the 15th ult. with a view to com-pelting John Joseph Kelly, Summerbill, to abstain from rufereeing an Association foot ball match at The Thatch, and with using violence towards Kelly.
Inspector Haffernan stated that the complainant came to Fitzgibbon street Police Station on the night of the 15th alt. and reported that Barrington, who was accompanied by Carroll and the other Kelly, bad assaulted him in his own house. There were slight scratches on the complainant, but nothing very serious.
The complainant, who is a labourer out of work, deposed that he had agreed to referee the match. He had been a referee since

referec, and that he should not referee dut-ing the strike, but the complainant replied that the strike was his chanco to come into the limelight. The witness said that Kelly struck at Barrington, who then hit Kelly and knocked him down. Barrington picked up Kelly, and then they went away in the mrit-Barrington gare eridence that he did not hit the complainant until Kells had hit out at him.
Mr. Little said that the attitude of Bar-rington and Kelly had not heen friendly.
He beliered that Kelly, the defendant, har mised the words that the complainant "would never forget it," and that Barrington had been the aggressor. The assault wras & very slight one, and justice wonld be done by binding Barrington and Kelly, the chairman of the Referees Arsociation. to the peace in their own recognísances of £10 for twelre months.
