John Bierce
@johnbierce
Fantasy novelist, author of Mage Errant, The Wrack, and More Gods Than Stars. Science and history nerd, some flavor or other of leftist/Marxist/anarchist, can burp the alphabet. johnbierce.com
Just picked up a couple SFF classics in Portuguese translation for a euro each:
This is a cat check point. relinquish your most recent cat picture on your phone (This is a VERY friendly tortie I met in Iceland. She was too affectionate to get a good photo of. Her ancestors sailed with vikings.)
My final Iceland book haul (assuming no last minute airport purchases):
I don't think I have my original physical copy anymore, but reading Stephen King's Misery was the first time I saw the craft of being a novelist discussed in detailed terms- it was the first time that I realized that authors were just people, that I could be one too.
I released the first novel of my new socialist sword and sorcery trilogy, The City That Would Eat the World, this year! It's got a mimic-based ecosystem, carnivorous public transit, millions of gods, and a pseudomedieval megastructure arcology spreading uncontrollably across a continent.
Convincing you to read my novel by the first sentence. Share yours if you want. (Here's the opening of "The City That Would Eat the World", my socialist sword and sorcery novel featuring a pseudomedieval megastructure arcology, carnivorous public transit kaiju, and fingernail priests.)
I got my grubby hands on the pin and bookmark prototypes from the Mage Errant Deluxe Illustrated Omnibus Kickstarter, and they are absolutely gorgeous! Wraithmarked knocked it out of the park with these!
Every time Discord says that I'm "playing Scrivener", I am filled with irrational rage, for no discernible reason.
My office view for the day! (Honestly, the other side of the coffeeshop roof offers an even better view of Hanoi and the big lake, but I was in the mood for this view instead. And that's not a field adjacent to the lake, it's a morning glory farm in the lake.)
The City That Would Eat the World, book one of the More Gods Than Stars Trilogy, is out now in ebook, audio (narrated by the amazing Robin Miles), and paperback! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...
Less than a day left (depending on your time zone) until the launch of my new series, More Gods Than Stars, with The City That Would Eat the World! www.amazon.com/dp/B0DLWXZNLK
So my cat had to go to the vet today, he got a little kidney infection (he's gonna be fine, we caught it early. Just has to take some medicine for a couple weeks.) But, in good news, the vet agrees that he is a very good boy and extremely polite and well-behaved.
Is the GIF not moving? The GIF's not moving for me. Dangit. Alright, video version of the animated cover, let's try that.
Just five days left until The City That Would Eat the World launches! Pre-order now! www.amazon.com/City-That-Wo...
One week until my new book, The City That Would Eat the World, book one of the More Gods Than Stars Trilogy, launches! The audiobook is narrated by the amazing Robin Miles, who absolutely knocked it out of the park. #booksky www.amazon.com/City-That-Wo...
