DiscOne is available now on the App Store. Here is a quick tour of some of the key features. #newapp #cdplayer #iphone #music #applemusic
I’ve been working on DiscOne because I missed the simple ritual of putting on an album and actually looking at the artwork while it plays. It is a music player that connects to Apple Music to bring back that CD collection experience. Here is a quick look at how it works. Launching on Tuesday.
Thinking about choosing a few CDs to listen to while playing Cribbage in the lounge at my college dorm. This is what led me to build my new app, DiscOne. I’m bringing back the intentional selection of albums. Make a choice and listen to the whole album. #ThrowbackThursday #iphone #music
Disc One is coming together. I’ve updated the app to show albums as a CD tower with 3 columns. Drop a disc on the player and listen to the album. Coming soon for iPhone. Link in thread for the TestFlight
New TestFlight beta today: DiscOne - CD Collection experience for Apple Music (link in comments) Drag a disc from the rack to the boombox. Whirs and plays the whole album, as the artist intended. #iosapp #beta #applemusic #cdplayer #boombox
We held the Celebration of Life for my dad this weekend. He was an electrical engineer, a great advisor, and a great dad. Here are the remarks I prepared 🧵
Other people are only tall if they are significantly taller than me. Otherwise there are “roughly my height” people and then shorter people. But the my height people are rare enough that I do notice them.
I hope that we get lil’ Finder Guy all over the #WWDC26 videos this year #lilFinderGuy
Happy π day, everyone! Let’s calculate π by dropping sticks. Here’s a little app you can drop into Swift Playgrounds or Xcode on a Mac or iPad. (Link in thread)
Just added to Cards Together. You can pull all 52 cards into your hand and they stack up pretty nicely. 🃏♠️♦️♣️♥️ #CardsTogether #SwiftSaturday #ScreenshotSaturday #comingsoon #gamedev
Two years ago today, the Apple Vision Pro released and I have been using it nearly every day since. The visionOS platform keeps evolving and I’m excited to keep pushing the boundaries of spatial computing. In that time, I’ve been involved with shipping 5 public apps, and dozens of others. 🧵
Card game update. I have the logic for "super moves" in Freecell working perfectly with a tap or a drag and drop. I've been doing a significant refactor to the architecture of this app. Card game rules are declarative. My hope is this will let add more games in a rapid way after my initial launch.
Letters + Words 1.0 is now available for iPhone and iPad (and Mac and Apple Vision Pro). This app helps you discover words from letters, and is designed to support any type of word game you might be playing.
Letters + Words is waiting for review. This was fun to put together and optimize the searches. All human crafted. Coming soon for iPhone and iPad.
I added a new open source app, LaserPointer, to ARKitVision (link in comments). This has a simple setup for tracking the Logitech Muse stylus, and uses the primary button to change laser beam colors. Link to #visionOS code and notes about my experiences with the Logitech Muse so far in 🧵
Apple Vision Pro Developer Strap (2nd Generation) just arrived. Curiously, it has some more more metal near the connector on both sides, and is just a bit visible on the right. #visionOS
MeshInstancesComponent Stress Test in visionOS 26. Here I'm using MeshInstancesComponent with 160,000 instances to create a 4-iteration Menger Sponge / Sierpinski Cube. Since each cube is rather simple, I'm able to squeeze this many instances. in one RealityKit Entity.
WWDC25 just dropped their “group labs” you can sign up for. I’m basically planning to do all of them! So excited to see what the next versions of visionOS, iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, Xcode, and Swift Playgrounds have in store for us! developer.apple.com/news/?id=waf...
Here’s a scene from my latest visionOS project. This has particle emitters from the space all around you, and from your hands, and has a mirroring representation of you. I’m using this as a stand in for another visionOS person to get a feel for how my scenes will feel to share them with others.
Preview of my latest open source for visionOS, macOS, and iOS: EntityView Why 1. Multiple overlapping RealityViews on visionOS aren’t really possible on iOS and macOS 2. Combining several clusters of Entities in the same RealityView doesn’t have a good pattern What would you want to add to this?
Since discovering that I can bring .STL files directly in to RealityView with ModelEntity, I’ve started using OpenSCAD for some of my layout thinking. This “programmer” style tool suits my thought process better for laying out and manipulating 3D elements. #visionOS #stl #openSCAD #RealityKit
Some days I am very productive with my hobby projects. Today was not one of those days. But, I did decide on what numbering system my aliens use. Can you figure it out?
Here’s another video from my new game. I added a Patrol Component and System and got some fun bouncing behavior when I gave them a goal above the floor level. I think I will keep this happy accident! #realitykit #visionOS #ios #macos #gamedev
ARUnderstanding 2.0 is a bit of a hefty update. Here are the features planned: * updated visualizations for most of the visionOS anchors * ARUnderstandingSession infrastructure for a more efficient runtime * PackCodable to transform anchors into small Data Here’s a peek of the visuals:
* Try out all of the Apple TV immersive content. Apple is adding to this at least every month with some impressive videos or experiences.
