Schrödinger's dad. A man of wealth and taste. Pleased to meet you.
1/3 one of my cameras catches something similar to this every night. Can you guess what it is?
One of my many cameras picks up a hedgehog that comes to eat my chickens’ leftovers every night. I’ve named him Hérisson Ford. #EnjoyTheLittleThings
Went to Ciel Bleu in La Chatre with the Firefighter today. Spotted a nice pair of Adidas in her size. I asked the price. 150€. She said « no way » but as we left she said she´d loved them so I went back and bought them for her. Turns out, we could sell them on for eight times the price. WTF?
It’s the Firefighter’s 51st birthday today so, after gift giving, I took her to a fantastic little restaurant. 100€, absolutely well worth it. Fruit and vegetables from the restaurants own gardens and all local produce, except for the coffee. 10 out of 10. #EjoyTheLittleThings
It’s taken three years but finally I have peonies in my garden and in my house. #EnjoyTheLittleThings
Just home from another shift and I found this on my doorstep. Not actually sure which of my lovely neighbours had left it for me, I assume it’s a thank you for all the eggs I leave on people post boxes. #EnjoyTheLittleThings
I can confirm those pink roses smell incredibly good. Almost mouthwatering, like Turkish Delight. I planted mine from cuttings last year.
I love Bluesky now. It’s getting more and more like old Twitter. It’s a mainly friendly place. Meanwhile, whenever I venture onto new Twitter..
It’s only a matter of time before Trump (who fucked some children) declares that the Vatican is only two weeks away from developing a nuke…
Madame Jean Grey provided me with this lovely bonus to my supper. #EnjoyTheLittleThings…
…but now I need a bigger trainer rack. Fuck my life. #EnjoyTheLittleThings
…so the firefighter bought me a new pair. Meaning my favourites can become my new garden trainers and my current garden trainers can go in the bin. They fucking stink…
I’ve ended up with quite a selection of trainers. Recently, my oldest and most favourite began to decay…
This was how I had to live when she was still in residency. She can keep the fuck out!
Since spending three weeks or so in my shower room recovering from a dog attack, the ex-patient now tries to get back in the house at every opportunity…
Encore une visite chez le vétérinaire avec une poule malade. Pfff…
When I got home I felt like a bit of a walk around my gardens and, for the first time in ages, went as far as my little stream. It’s not a bad old life. #EnjoyTheLittleThings
Today, while working at the auberge, they put me on desserts. This was my view as I scooped ice cream and scorched Baileys crème brûle (many other desserts are available). It’s not a bad old life. #EnjoyTheLittleThings
For most of the year my shower room has been used as a chicken hospital. First a poor egg bound girl who died in a warm bed and now a chicken who was attacked by a dog. She’s getting better and tonight, happily but unfortunately, she’s regained the power to flutter! And claimed my fucking washbasin…
Since discovering the reason people straddle two bays in a car park is to prevent people parking too close to their pride and joy I’ve started doing this at every opportunity. #EnjoyTheLittleThings
I will. Now, please, stop torturing the poor things. They aren’t toys, they’re living creatures. Now you’ve been informed you’ve lost your ignorance defence. Stop it. Here’s the latest of my livestock to be in my “raptor hospital”. She’ll be there another 10 days & cost me circa 200€ in vet fees.
My new toys have arrived! I’ve become a fan of this brand since taking a punt on a cordless chainsaw to use inside my barn & being majourly impressed by it. The small battery I bought doesn’t hold a huge charge so I’ve invested in 2 big buggers, I have a lot of trees to prune. #EnjoyTheLittleThings
Another neighbour left me a gift along with the basket I’d left her eggs in. A big jar of ham and another jar containing, erm, wild fucking boar! I’m very anti-chasse, but I don’t want to waste good food. The poor bugger’s dead now anyway. That said, I’ve no idea how I should eat it.
