A late season gem. Clematis 'Ville de Lyon' putting on a summer show. #ClematisThursday

They're both back for #RoseWednesday this week. The dark pink orange rose is 'Lady Penelope', the creamy pink is 'New Dawn' 🌹 The hot weather hasn't stifled them 🤞

They're just brilliant, loving them so much this year.

I think the word I'm looking for is 'festooned' 💜💙 This Clematis combo of Etoile Violette (burgundy) and Arabella (lilac) are just going mental. I've never seen so many flowers. They're a bit out of hand, but I haven't the heart to prune them. #ClematisThursday

Finally! We have trumpets 🥳🙌 These dwarf Agapanthus have just come into bloom after an inordinate amount of time.

The one that got away, yesterday. This Clematis viticella (possibly 'Little Nell' but its origins are lost in the aether) is happily climbing through my Pyracantha hedge. #Bloomscrolling, #FlowersOnFriday and a late late #ClematisThursday 😊

Well, well, well - this is a lovely surprise. This is Clematis 'Dancing King. It's just started to bloom today - must have known it was #ClematisThursday I'm well chuffed. I thought this one had gone the way of the Dodo with the extreme heat we've been having. I'll post more photos soon.

This rather lovely Musk Mallow (Malva moschata) has seeded itself on the edge of the rockery. It's slightly muscling in on an established Euphorbia, but I haven't the heart to move it as it's so pretty.

I've had a busy morning cleaning out the Lily bowl. It had grass, muck, silt, and gawd knows what in it. It's now lovely and clean and the home to dwarf Waterlily 'Perry's Baby Red' 🌺

Back home, the Clematis on the obelisk have taken over. The light blue is 'Arabella', the deep purple is 'Etoile Violette' 💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜💙 #ClematisThursday

A blast from the past for #RoseWednesday, especially for @joyf.bsky.social. These are blooms from the gardens at David Austin Roses taken from my visit last year. It's a labour of love. A 12 yr cycle. 1000s of cross-pollinations, meticulous selection of seedlings and plants for 1 new rose a year.
