Today’s stage of le Tour finishes on Alpe D’Huez. This is *the* iconic climb - 21 hairpin bends at an average gradient of ~8.1%. It has seen many historic finishes - from Le Mond and Hinault in ‘86, Armstrong’s “Look” in 2001, to Geraint Thomas cementing his Yellow jersey in 2018.
