MN based. cis/het/white/old guy... he/him Bicycles, sometimes motorcycles, snarky commentary.
1) she loves bike rides in her trailer already. 2) she was a little hesitant to get in at first until my wife got on the bike then she jumped right in. 3) she hasn't gone for a ride yet (stay tuned!), and probably won't until me or my wife feel comfortable operating it with out a dog first.
Finished tightening bolts and aligning brakes, to it for a mile ride around the park just me. First impressions, it's a beast to try to steer. I didn't have any weight in the sidecar and I felt like I was lifting the side car wheel on right turns unless I really leaned out over the sidecar. 🧵
These people really want to sell me home improvements, they won't stop robot calling and texting me, so I'm letting their robots know the truth... Sorry if I accidentally being sky net online.
Broken skin is basically a non-issue, but damn the bruising is going to keep me from using armrests for a month. Similar bruising on outside of my lower thigh (just above the knee). Rolling over in bed last night was challenging.
Went over the handle bars today... I'm fine*, finished the ride as planned. I'm not impressed that neither my Garmin watch, or the coros bike computer thought it was worth sending an alert for it (though both have sent alerts for me coming to a stop light, in protected bike lanes).
Had not planned on a 27 miles ride with friend who hasn't been on bike for years, but every opportunity to turn around he said he was fine so we just kept going...
Eyebrows has made it into the coop! Before anyone asks she was named eyebrows because as a baby chick she had eyebrows... That's her in the back.
This is clearly Eyebrows, she hates to be alone but also isn't smart enough to just follow the other chickens (she often gets confused and can't find her way back to them). The other chickens were leary of a clean coop but eventually went in.
Chicken coop cleaned. Backyard still a mess of tools I used to clean it. It's fucking hot out there.
We've had a few since the civil war. I think even rural GOP folks that were flying the Confederate flag up until 2023 (when they switched to the 1893/1983 MN flag because they learned (after 130 years) it was also racist) would be mad about giving it back.
There are 2 things I need from Star Trek, one is for strange new worlds to show us spock and Kirk running around star base 25 trying to get into a party and ending up at a dive bar. (can be completely in the background of the A and/or B plots but needs to happen) And more lower decks!
When bike trails aren't as smooth as adjacent roads, we should be legally allowed to boot the elected representatives for that municipality.
Pretty good haul... Did not see neighbors, will bring Bluetooth speaker out to listen to music in future, so they can hear me.
Headed out to the blueberry patch on my side of the fence with the folks flying the old flag in their front yard.
Friend got a cabin up on Rush lake and invited us to come hang out. Ride all the way up to Harris was decent (save some very poorly maintained bicycle paths) after that things got real sketchy. Gravel "roads" on a road bike kinda of sketchy. Anyhow thousands of calories burned, Hundreds consumed.
Being contrary online for kicks and posting a dog pics during cat tour. Take that society!
One of the girls figured out they didn't get a bonus for extra large eggs and have us a fairy egg. Both these eggs were collected today.
Got more than a little lost more than once; But managed to get myself smack in the middle of stone arch bridge fest (unintentionally). Longest ride for the year so far Convinced a friend to ride @bikemn.bsky.social twin cities bike tour with me so I've got to be in shape to do 50+ miles (by Oct ✔️)
