NY prosecutors dismiss rape case against Weinstein
Jessica Mann cannot deal with the trauma of a fourth trial - "In all of this ordeal, I was treated as though I was the person on trial. By coming forward about being raped, I have been treated by some as if I was defiling the sacred sexuality of a man. Yet I was the one who had my sexuality defiled," Mann said.
"It is clear, when a convicted rapist is awarded privileges to continue to shield a jury from past settlements, nondisclosure agreements, prior convictions, or other abuse, there is no true justice for a victim of sexual assault when that rapist is a predator."
While panelists couldn't agree on Mann in 2025, Weinstein was convicted anew of assaulting Haley. Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Curtis Farber said he would sentence Weinstein for that conviction on Sept. 23.
Regardless of how his sentencing pans out, Weinstein, who's been behind bars since the first jury found him guilty, has a long road ahead. He was also convicted in Los Angeles, in 2022, for raping and sexually assaulting Evgeniya Chernyshova in early 2013, weeks before the attack alleged by Mann. Jurors did not hear about that case.

You'll notice Florida's tough-talking CFO, Blaise Ingoglia, isn't saying squat about any of this. He and his office have refused to answer questions about audits for any of the "emergency" immigration spending that I started posing last year. And WKMG recently reported that when their viewers started asking "What about Alligator Alcatraz?" his office deflected, saying it had "full confidence in the Trump ministration's financial review of Alligator Alcatraz."
Apparently, Blaise is too busy screaming about a $6,000 annual stipend for Orlando's poet laureate to focus on $1 billion being blown on no-bid contracts down in the Everglades.
Remember: The Sentinel revealed that the state hasn't yet produced a single audit on all this
"emergency" immigration spending — audits that state statutes say are required.
So we're missing both audits and competitively bid contracts while reading one report after another bout bloated spending. Gee, you think there might be a connection?

Did you see that Matt Gaetz is back? State House Speaker Daniel Perez decided to appoint the controversial former congressman to the state nonprofit that oversees spending of the settlement money from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Gaetz, as you may recall, was forced to withdraw his nomination for attorney general, meaning he was one of the few people too toxic for even swampy DC - but apparently a perfect fit for Floria.

That's the logic of the whole market today. AI - the world's money-losingest technology - attracts investment at the expense of everything else. When horrified NIH lifers begged the DOGE boys not to shut down long-running medical research projects, Musk's broccoli-haired brownshirts laughed in their faces, saying we don't need cancer research because "GAI" is almost here and it will cure cancer. You could hardly ask for a better example of investing in vibes over value than shutting down real cancer research to free up money for teaching more words to the word-guessing machine because it's about to become God and cure cancer.

A Kenyan court has halted a US plan to fly potentially ebola infected Americans to quarantine in Kenya in a facility that's not built yet, in exchange for a piddly amount of aid money. Kenyan's are rightly furious.
"A Kenyan doctors' union on Thursday issued a 48-hour strike notice should the country proceed with the deal. It said the U.S. was clear that they would not allow Ebola on their soil and that Kenya should not become a "dumping ground."
"As the vanguard of Kenya's healthcare system, we are utterly disgusted by the government's apparent willingness to trade national biosecurity and the lives of its citizens for foreign aid," the union's chairperson, Davji Atellah, said in a statement.
Ordinary Kenyans have been angered by the plan.
"Why do they want to get infected people and bring them to Kenya? Kenya is not a dumping area for such sick people," laborer Cedric Akweyu said in an interview with The Associated Press.
Student Wycliff Otieno also expressed concern. "It is like the government has been given a lot of money by the U.S.
So, it is like they are selling us," he said.
In northeastern Congo, health workers with scant supplies have been struggling to contain an outbreak of the Bundibugyo virus, a kind of Ebola that has no approved treatment or vaccine"

Been a long time. Felt like I should come back just to say I won't be returning to social media. Having nude pictures taken of me and disseminated without my knowledge or consent has been the most traumatic thing that has ever happened to me.
I've been very suicidal for the past year. It was because of my social media presence that I was targeted. So for my mental health and my family I am calling it quits for good.
