A new Spider-Man is about to hit theaters, so here’s my ranking of the Tom Holland movies: Homecoming Brand New Day Far From Home No Way Home
Happy to report Marvel comes out of its slump for a moment with Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Turns out superhero movies can still be good when they focus on character instead of fan service and CGI nonsense. Who knew?!
Really dug #MotorCity, a gritty action flick with almost no dialogue. It’s a creative choice that might annoy some viewers, but I thought it was compelling.
Round 2 of #TheOdyssey, this time in IMAX with my daughter. Much better environment/experience than my previous watch - I like it even more now.
Watched a screener for the new #Hadestown pro shot hitting theaters this weekend. It’s good! I think musical fans will be very happy.
I’ve reached “this country cover of a Goo Goo Dolls song really speaks to me” levels of middle age.
Tonight’s screening is #TheOdyssey. Good thing I’m not a nerdy English teacher who’s been excited about this for a year. No hype whatsoever!
Zoey Deutch continues her summer of pop culture dominance. Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass is the same blend of earnest, random, and weird that we got from Wet Hot American Summer and They Came Together, so of course I loved it.
Turns out that #MinionsAndMonsters is the best movie in the entire franchise, so of course it’s underperforming.
I watched Body Heat for the first time last night thanks to the new Criterion edition. Breaking news: 45-year-old classic film is, in fact, very good.
If you're feeling...let's say "complicated" about the 4th of July this year, might I recommend Brian De Palma's #BlowOut for your holiday viewing. I just saw it for the first time recently and it absolutely floored me. A flat-out masterpiece.
Now watching #TheFurious at the mall where I spent a lot of time as a teenager. This place has gotten DEPRESSING. 😬
Tonight’s screening is one of the year’s most anticipated for me: #DisclosureDay. Spielberg returns to sci-fi!
Tonight’s screening is #MastersOfTheUniverse. I’ve been thinking of my late Granny a lot today. As a toddler, I bonked her on the head with a piece of firewood because I was playing He-Man and wanted to turn her into Battle Cat. We laughed about that for the next 25 years.
I missed the #Backrooms press screening, so let’s see why it made a gajillion dollars this weekend…
