Crappy phone zoom and balcony seats don't help the picture, but the Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman show last night at the Masonic Temple in Detroit was wonderful.
Can confirm: dill pickle pizza at HenriettaHaus in Hamtramck is pretty good.
Instead of watching tonight's propaganda (or listening to pundits dissect it), I had an infinitely better time at The Ark in Ann Arbor seeing Emily Scott Robinson. Her new record Appalachia is an early top-10 of the year for me. Just great, great songwriting.
Second show in as many days. Tonight was seeing the Anzû Quartet at the Detroit Institute of Arts playing Messiaen's Quatuor pour la fin du temps, a piece that enthralled me when I first heard it in a performance 30 years ago. I haven't heard it live again until tonight. Simply breathtaking.
Taking advantage of a slow gig calendar and catching some shows. Tonight is Sierra Hull and the Milk Carton Kids. Sierra Hull was incredible.
Through everything, I kept my Washington Post subscription because I loved its books section, especially the Book Club newsletter from Ron Charles every Friday. Congrats @washingtonpost.com, today you've made me cancel.

Day off work, it's snowy outside, and I was reminded this came out today. Great watch this afternoon. Congratulations @markstryker.bsky.social - I loved it.
#LibFaves25 Day 2: THE GALES OF NOVEMBER: THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE EDMUND FITZGERALD by John U. Bacon Fantastic book that covers SO much more than the shipwreck itself. Details the lives of the crew, how important Great Lakes shipping is, and the danger involved (worse than ocean sailing).
A rare Saturday off, so spent the morning the best way I know how: shopping at Eastern Market, having a drink at Detroit City Distillery, and now home putting things away while listening to @wdet.bsky.social and Ann Delisi.b

I did as requested, and read the final lines just as the "la-la-la-las" of "Don't You (Forget About Me)" hit. This was a fun one, @djangowexler.bsky.social. Thanks for some fun books when I needed them.
Great time seeing @imwithherband.bsky.social last night at the Michigan Theater. Wonderful to see shows again.
My copy arrived. Really looking forward to it (and thanks for including a recap!)
Really sad to be hearing that Peter David has passed. I am a huge Spider-Man 2099 fan, and also loved his Star Trek novel work, especially the New Frontier novels. RIP

Three Record Store Day releases, one non-RSD release. Decent day and looking forward to some listening.
