Kian bowed his head lower. “Thank you, my lord, may I present to you, Dee of Earth.”
He gestured to Dee, who was still trying to make herself invisible, but on being introduced, simply waved at the dragon. “Hi,” she blushed.
“A human girl is your champion?” He erupted in rich deep laughter that bounced off the chamber walls. It took a while for him to calm down. “I have not laughed like that in years,” he said, trying to maintain his composure. Shifting so easily from such a dominating figure to this laid-back individual, Dee wondered if this was how he was most of the time, and not the scary creature Kian had painted in her mind.

"I mean take him to your bed if he offers, but don't fall in love." Delphi piped in, getting a slight slap from Alaine on her arm at such a stupid thing to say. Dee missed the exchange as Delphi mouthed "What?" at Alaine as if it was a perfectly reasonable thing to say.
