We are casting for an upcoming social blitz with Americans for Prosperity (AFP).

Scope: As part of the upcoming America 250 celebrations, AFP is creating a social campaign featuring 1776-style Town Criers, standing up and reading passages from the Declaration of Independence in public places around the country. This is an homage to how the news of the Declaration spread throughout the country almost 250 years ago.

These organic "street performances" will be captured "Tik-Tok style" in public places across the country.

The goal is to gain some virality and media attention culminating in a feature on "Fox and Friends" in NYC with at least one (or potentially all) the Town Criers - along with a few VIPs from the AFP orbit. But this portion is unconfirmed and TBC.

We are seeking 4 talent (21+, open ethnicity, registered/voted Republican voters, local to Virginia, DC and/or Philadelphia) to work with us as Town Criers. We are seeking talent that has experience with stage performance, street performance and improvisational comedy. Additionally, we are seeking individuals comfortable wearing an elaborate Town Crier costume for extended periods (reference images attached), performing outside, and familiarizing themselves with and live-reading the Declaration of Independence using a projected voice. We are looking for people who can "commit to the bit" have fun, and make this their own.

Rate: $1000/shoot day, $500/travel day (less any fees)

If they’re going to lie to us, could they at least do it in a way that isn’t so easily disproven? This search took me all of two minutes. There’s no line of hundreds of vessels preparing to transit. They’re all remaining away from the Strait. Iran is clearly still in control.

The recommendations proposed by petitioners to establish a registry of patients prescribed and using estrogen is an affront to both personal health and constitutional rights. Regarding personal health, there are numerous reasons why an individual might be prescribed estrogen and for any number of medical reasons. The idea that a person?s medical record and personal health would be held up for review and scrutiny by the general public is antithetical to the rights and privacy of every individual in America. Furthermore, the constitutional right to privacy noted and declared by the Supreme Court would be irreparably harmed if such a regulation were put into effect. Let this maddening proposal die a quick death here and don?t consider any implementation of these ill-considered proposals.

Just looked into it and this is worse than usual.

The Toast app page from Vito’s Famous in Naples, FL where Trump and DeSantis are getting cheesesteaks. The “Original” is served with lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, and long hots, a true nightmare of toppings for a proper cheesesteak. They also don’t offer whiz, which is just a denial of Philly culture.

Happy Mammoth Hog Day!

An advertisement to come see a Mammoth Hog at the home of W.S. Safer on 2/23/1863. The hog is “supposed by many good judges to weigh 800 pounds”, though why they don’t just put it on a scale is unexplained. The hog is also going to be slaughtered, but not sure why that’s in such small print. All in all, a truly odd advertisement.

Two possibilities come to mind: Pamela Adlon and Alex Borstein. I realize they're both largely known as comic actresses, but they both have the chops to bring the right drama to this without going overboard, I think.
