Inconveniently spaced appointments mean I’ve been in ADHD Waiting Mode™︎ for the past three days
“Untitled (Portrait of Ross in LA)” by Felix Gonzalez-Torres. Visitors are invited to take a piece of candy, which is periodically replenished by museum staff. The ideal weight of the pile is 175 lbs to represent the weight of Gonzalez-Torres’s partner who died from AIDS complications.
Other “Wow, I didn’t expect this art would make me feel A Way” pieces: “Can’t Help Myself” by Sun Yuan and Peng Yu. (I realize the irony of this image found on ifunny dot co)
Terrarium refresh #2! (Not a real skull btw, it’s a 3D printed glow in the dark one 😎)
I spent a few hours today helping my neighbor set up her first terrarium and giving one of mine a much needed spruce-up 🥰
I have a lawyer friend who would read segments of The Law of Superheroes when she was fried on regular studying! WOULD MUTANTS HAVE CIVIL RIGHTS? WOULD THE SECOND AMENDMENT APPLY TO WOLVERINE'S CLAWS? COULD BATMAN PATENT THE BATMOBILE? AND MANY MORE LEGAL ISSUES EXPLORED THROUGH COMIC BOOKS!
PSA: Prairie Park Nature Center in LFK is free and has lots of cute animals!! (They don’t let just anyone hold the opossum, but I was lucky enough to volunteer there for a few years)
Less than 24 hours after a guy told me “you can see otters here sometimes” [id: video of a river otter eating a fish while resting half out of the water]
When visiting my grandparents in Boise, we’d always drive past this sandstone door + window carved into a hillside. I went back for my grandpa’s funeral in 2004 and wanted to take a picture of it, but a building had gone up in front of it and the door was half-buried under the landscaping.
Eagle grabs dinner at local heron nest. The sound that 50+ herons make when an eagle shows up has to be heard to be believed.
I think these would make good wallpapers/lock screens, help yourself if they tickle your fancy!
I have shared this video with so many people over the past week, including my neighbor who thought she saw something similar (but also might have dreamt it)
