OFMD, quilting, photography, cats, etc. OOPS I can't believe I forgot to shout out my family. They're such great people.
I'm feeling virtuous. I finished this Christmas present a few days ago. Table runner, 14" x 46." I double-shadow quilted* both sides of each seam. The metallics don't especially pop in the pictures; it looks niftier in person. * Is this the correct term? parallel stitching outlining an element?
I got my stickers! Thank you, @gonzovstaika.bsky.social! #ofmd
The air here doesn't _feel_ smoky, but look at the sun this morning. Central PA, USA #photography #sunrise #nature #clouds #wildfires
I made a pretty ugly table runner and I have proof. I've used the pattern with different fabrics and I've used the fabrics with a different pattern. The problem is _this_ pattern with _those_ fabrics. Sigh. The quilting came out well at least. #craftiverse #handmade #quiltsky
I got to see Big Boy this afternoon. The final car is the one that FDR & Truman used on their whistlestop campaign tours. Annville, PA. (no audio) #bigboy #railfan #unionpacific #southcentralpa
Have some random creativity: a double-sided lap throw featuring tulips and a tree. I dedicate this quilt with appreciation to @amuseoffyre.bsky.social and @kninjaknitter.bsky.social for A Little Restraint, which accompanied me through its creation. #ofmd #ofmdfic #craftiverse #handmade #quiltsky
Show me a picture that captures your essence: A friend did this portrait of me. At the time, I asked her not to finish because I needed to think about it.
I had a painting reframed today. Now I feel very old. I painted this 25 years ago. #craftiverse #handmade
Without stating your age, post a movie that released when you turned 18

We don't usually see each other's headers. Quote post with yours <3 My header is an accident. My footing slipped while I was snapping a mockingbird. I caught instead the rising moon held in an apple tree's hand. I never could recreate the shot in focus.
A 40-batik rag quilt in a loose gradient. Quilting cotton back. 40" x 60". I'm tickled with it. #craftiverse #handmade #quiltsky #colortheory
Pardon me if I sent you this one of Jeffy already. I think cats as a species have an unspoken social contract to do freaky things just often enough to keep us a little off-kilter.
What I'd like to know is why the Merlin app doesn't acknowledge backyard chickens. Not even with that polite note you get when you catch a tree frog on audio. Birds Aren't Real for real? @merlin.mb.ca #birding #birdwatching #BirdsArentReal
My latest (& most expensive) quilt is in the mail! This one was a pain. I finished the flimsy & hated the scale. So I jiggered the design and re-bought the fabric. The diamonds frame the 3 sides. My own design, professionally longarmed. 95" x 115". #craftiverse #handmade #quiltsky #quilts
This is a cat checkpoint; relinquish your most recent cat picture in your phone
I'm so happy to share the Pride coasters that I made for the kind winner of my auction item in the OFMD Craft Fair. They were fun to design and make. #craftiverse #handmade #quiltsky #fandomfight #ofmd
Woot woot! I got this one done! 45" x 60" toddler quilt. Elizabeth Hartman's Lloyd & Lola pattern. It's pretty finicky: there are 14 separate pieces of fabric in just the muzzle block. #craftiverse #handmade #quiltsky
Cry with me at the SBBD-isity of the current baby blanket. That's all.
I was so tired yesterday. I left off the Ninebark that will also go in front of the house (Physocarpus opulifolius, in the general rose family).
1 of those happy/irritated moments. 2 cats: sleek & skinny Squeaky and floofy & fat Freya. F always tries to steal S's food so S eats on a (non-food) counter. F's Eat Right & Exercise More regime is finally paying off. She can now jump to S's counter, still trying to clean his plate. Hooray?
Woohoo! I got my Progress Pride FUCK ICE hat! I'm so tickled. #ofmd #fandommarket #pride
Black beans and rice are a staple in my house. We make up a big pot and freeze in small batches. We add cooked veg as we go. For me, the correct balance is about 1/2 veg to bean. If you didn't have an instapot, just simmer on low for a couple of hours.
