Toute histoire a une fin.
Mais celle-ci ne donne pas l'impression d'en avoir une.
En ce moment, la douleur est bien réelle. Nous sommes venus ici convaincus que nous pouvions continuer à écrire l'histoire, et quand on y croit aussi profondément, le coup de sifflet final est difficile à accepter.
Au cours des dernières semaines, nous avons vu tout un pays tomber en amour avec cette équipe. Les rues se sont remplies de rouge. Les salons se sont transformés en sections de supporters. Les enfants qui rêvaient auparavant de porter l'écusson de leurs ancêtres ont découvert un nouveau rêve.
Nous avons toujours cru que c'était un pays de football.
Maintenant, on le sait.
A tous ceux qui ont chanté, voyagé, rempli les stades, porté l'écusson avec fierté et qui y ont cru avec nous... merci. Vous nous avez accompagnés a chaque étape de cé parcours.
L'histoire ne s'est pas écrite uniquement sur le terrain. Elle s'est écrite dans les maisons, les écoles, les parcs, les bars et les communautés à travers tout lè pays. Elle s'est ecrite chaque fois que quelqu'un a choisi d'y croire.
Notre aventure en Coupe du monde touche à sa fin.
Mais celle du tootball canadien ne fait que commencer.

"There is a fundamental confusion at the centre of this update, and it is doing a lot of political work. The confusion is between universality and inclusion. Universality is the absence of formal exclusion — a program that anyone, in principle, can access. Inclusion is the presence of actual access — a program that the people who need it can, in practice, actually use. These are not the same thing. Conflating them is how you build policy that looks fair on the page and entrenches inequality off it. Tell someone the door is open and you have said nothing about whether they can walk through it. The structural barriers that determine who actually walks through any given door — savings, time, occupational segregation, medical certification, language, literacy, geography, disability, the cost of childcare, the burden of unpaid care — these don’t disappear because you’ve written “for all” on the lintel.

The Spring Economic Update is built on the premise that universality is inclusion. It isn’t. Let me walk through the receipts."

Big, beautiful borbs! We have a small flock around the house, seemed to arrive on Wednesday. Took a photo of a few beauties on Thursday. Love hearing them outside... they are giving me hope! ☀️
