Jesus follower. Writer. Old Soul. Crocheter. Mom to Jovie the Mini-Goldendoodle, Kobie the Cavapoo, Arrow the Cockatiel, & Tytus & Tilly the Tortoises.
After parading around in her petunia stem hat, Tilly ate it when it fell off of her head. She regularly eats collard green, mustard greens, clover, dandelion, violet, broadleaf plantain, cosmos, petunias, dandelion, zinnias, evening primrose, clover, pansies, violets, & coneflowers.
Arrow usually attacks my phone when I take her pic, but this morning she was more interested in head pets.
This man, who is totally a real four-star general called me “glorious” and now I will settle for nothing less from all future men who wish to woo me. I mean, I blocked this scammer, but still…the point remains.
Guess which pet got off his leash and joyously romped from yard to yard and chased bunnies through the back fields of our house and which one ate a purple petunia. 🐶🐢🌸
Trump’s inflation is hurting everybody. Amanda is spending almost $100 on gas each week as electricity bills double. Trump’s reality is hitting her family hard.
Several months and 75,000 words later and here I am! First draft completed. Next up, revisions, revisions, revisions!
This is one of my new fave coneflower hybrids. We accidentally planted it in the way back garden. Oh well. We’ll move it some year.
Tilly doesn’t just eat her food; she also plays peekaboo! And apparently wants to become a Crawler.
When you want to help with a puzzle but the other hooman won’t let you!
It would make a great tortoise table and make add a special weapon for the 20th Maine.
I got my second tattoo from a lovely gent named Cory at The Ethereal Fawn and the little tortoise has me all 🥹
❌ Regular puzzles= boring! ✅ Puzzles with baby tortoises= so much fun!
Got a tubbie (soak) and then immediately started to bury himself in the dirt. Good thing it’s more for hydration than cleanliness.
Sometimes you need to snuggle up in your dirt hole and take an afternoon nap.
Today in Tilly’s bowl: dandelion, broadleaf plantain, clover, collard green, cosmo, violet, & evening primrose—all from my property. Tytus is out is in his foraging for his own food.
Weeded Tytus’s enclosure AND got a week’s worth of food for the tortoises. Can you spot Tytus?
The gallery wall behind Tytus’s enclosure is finally done! I love how it came out. And my office was originally going to be more low-key. 😂
Petco, you ok? I mean, patriotic fish is a little over-the-top for moi, but you do you. They ARE kinda pretty though.
Only $50 for a Belle doll haunted by Linda the Friendly Ghost!!! 🥀👻
Coneflowers are one of my faves and I’ve added in all sorts of hybrids in recent years. This one is called “Sombrero Tres Amigos” and I’m in love with them!
I met this baby Aldabra tortoise today and it was one of the greatest moments of my life. They’re the second largest tortoise species in the world.
One of my fave areas of tortoise care is going out into my yard and foraging for weeds and flowers to feed Tytus and Tilly. Good thing I loved gardening before I got my tortoises…and no one grows weeds like me. 😉
My co-workers have questionable work practices—sleeping on the job, sunbathing, barking at pedestrians, and chasing wildlife.
