Finished reading the first DUNE novel so got some hankering to do some DUNE artwork This is A2 so hopefully I'll get it scanned in at work when I get enough of backlog that is ko-fi.com/jwaugh123

I was going to go for a mix of the actors features, the eyes where an attempt at Kyle MacLachlan's and then he was meant to have Timothee Chalamet's hair however i completely forgot and went with a hood when I was inking it

I am really pleased with the blue within blue eyes tho best part

Redesign of Ronin from 2022 for Crimson Castle, she's meant to be able to combine with the robotic horse as a sort of centaur esque thing Ko-Fi - ko-fi.com/jwaugh123

Ronin another MM character who is probably still going to appear in Crimson Castle once I get to it, she'll definitely need another updating though and figure out the combination look

Pretty sure I did this on with dip pens (Don't quote me on that one though)

Birthday film purchases from the HMV in Newcastle, almost bought Battleship Potemkin with the Beastie Boys Soundtrack (released by the BFI) but I might get that another time

The line art and the shadows
Really pleased with well everything is separated though, I really need to go back and redo the alternate armour designs considering the normal armour has changed quite a bit

The grey undertones
Mix of the cold and warm (didn't have any ice when I did this one)
I need to also scan in the final finished piece for this too like the last alcohol marker pieces

Her upper legs are so strangely long, it really bugs me when I look at these older pieces

Len's so lank in this, also this was before I had figured out what the Diving mechs where meant to be, also mixed feelings about the background, only positive I can think of is I really like Lens outfit in this piece

Scarlet Long Range Equipment design A bit influenced by Metal Gear Ray and Sentinel Gundam

I used a white acrylic marker in a attempt to add some highlights to the black and white, I also really don't like the look of her gloves in this

Also feel like it'd make more sense for a hand held beam cannon over the back mounted one

The white acrylics don't look as bad here as you sort of see what I was going for compared to the one flattening in Clip Studio where it just looks like I left out a load of the shading

At this rate I think Scathi's hair colour is just green at this point (which I suppose is a bit more unique then brunette but ya know) This was also me trying to do a painting with a set amount of paints (even tho as I've found out these paints are probably more for mixing 😭😭😭)

Yuri is me testing out how mix alcohol markers and acrylics (also designing a helmet for the MM pilot suit, no I don't know where all her goes)

The fighters designs are just me trying to brain storm a design for the confed fighter, a fighter does appear in the first issue of Fields of Red but it's mostly from behind and other ones are usually in silhouette cause I could not settle on a design (I do have an idea for one at the moemnt which I feel like sits more in line with the confeds design)

Had to include the first painted parts (the metallic parts that is)

Painting in the zippers and buckles, along with the mask and The Meta-Magnum, using Payne Grey as I like that it starts to turn more bluish as you mix in white or unbleached

WIP shots of this painting of Eir (going to scan it and make it into a print since I've only got the Riso prints from college to sell), still need to do the background tho Really pleased with how it all turned out tho

Pretty much all painted up, just need to decide on a background, which will be edited in separately

Pretty much all painted, minus the outline on her eyes, nose ridge and eye brows, also added some creases and wrinkles to her boots and gloves which I think gives everything more volume

Pretty much all done minus forgot to paint in her dagger handle (which considering her height is more of a short sword for a human) and lack of outlines and what not

Was getting around to painting her pinks, I think this point was just filling in the colours for highlighting and what not

Crimson getting repaired (2023) Like the Scarlet piece from last week I am 100% I actually finished this one, just never got the finished artwork scanned in for whatever reason (probably just forgot), I was also playing around with white highlighting parts that would catch the light (undersuit)

Just the linework and the shadows for this on, the current design she's only got three prosthetic limbs, I do think the way the wires are coming out of her right arm (her left) are a reference to a transformers piece from IDWs run but no idea, who the artist was or what series it was from

Same again but with some grey under shading added as I originally did this one, I was toying around with using the greys to create different tone of colouring, I don't it ever looking crazy great, so I swapped back just the standard layering from lightest to darkest

Scarlet, I don't think I remember scanning in the final finished piece

Scarlet, this was from when I was still confusing Scarlet and Crimsons names, you can also see the Ezquerra lines to, all the pinks have been filled in too

"Ears" are weirdly small too

The line work along with the solid shadows you can also see even more Ezquerra lines too

Some Ma.K pilot figure painting from 1/35 PKA AUSF G GUSTAV, AUSF M MELZINE obviously the main problem now is which one do I use as I can only use the one, since only one of the power armours actually have a open cockpit

Pilot figure this one wearing a WW2 esque hat, like Ma.K started off being kitbashed from WW2 kits or something like that

One of the pilot figures this one has a helmet which I'm assuming are camera lenses so he can see how in how I set the FOVs in video games

Len Bust From 2023-2024 (Started it in, then finished it as is the case with a lot of my artwork), I also don't remember what I inked it with, it looks like dip pen but it could of also been a really small fine liner nib (like 0.05), Len's also look weirdly big in this

Flattened image of Len, making all the blacks more solid, I also wouldn't say I consider this accurate to the current idea of the characters, being more Cyborg or Biomechanical, of course it's not hard think that Len just more mechanical arms.

Also have another piece that sort of gives a similar vibe (it's also a Ghost in the Shell reference too, I don't think I've posted it on here before)

The undited image, where you can see I've used a marker or something for some parts and then her bazonga's shadows are done with a brush pen or something

And some of her hair too (hair doesn't have a funny name tho)

Work in progress painting of Eir I've pretty much got everything like painted I'm apart from the pink bits and and the highlights, planning to probably use this painting as a new print Colour scheme here is most definitely not inspired by a famous British comic character you cannea prove it

All the metallic bits painted with Payne Grey as when mixed with a off white or I suppose a white it starts to become more and more blue

I do later cover the pouches with paint because I did not plan this out in the slightest (I'm professionally trained in art you know)

More filled in painting, hair, chest plate, undersuit, pouches and thigh boots are painted just need highlighting and adding a bit of shadow to make it all (hopefully) pop

Been 3 years since I painted my first Frame Arm Girl (Handscale), I don't remember why I took the pic while she was still Glossy but ya know Also the mouth leaves a lot to be desired It's a shame Stylet is such a pain in the arse (in the like 2 shops that I know sell FA Girl kits) to get a hold

Illustration of Shade (called Skade here still hadn't settled fully on her name yet) from 2023 was still trying to figure out personalities for the group along with roles (Shade's was already sort of set since I started doodling her with a Bazooka of various levels of accuracy)

Shade (Skade) drawn with Sepia pens, in the background are numerous destroyed vehicles of the WW2 german variety (well apart from the tank some of the barely look accurate) for some reason I've tried to do light effects to create a NMM effect even though there's no layering for it, I wouldn't be surprised if I was just making sure the pens work/how they flow as I had bought some Molotow White Acrylic markers which I've never used before (They literally work the same way as Posco pens apart you can refill em)

Went to see The Killer (Directed by John Woo) and I think these Hong Kong action films just do something for my brain Also the first time going to the Tyneside cinema will deffo be going back (mostly because I've already booked tickets for other films lol) and it supports local
