Gonna round off the thread with some pretty flowers that are absolutely not native from my bulb garden. The bumblebees don't seem to care. Believe it or not, but those aubergine tulips are supposed to be 'black' tulips. I gotta figure out what I'm doing wrong with them.
Some shots of a downed black willow. I was on an old logging path turned into a nature sanctuary. The newly cut trees kiiiinda pissed me off. (I reported them because fuck you.) Those were native trees. Both the mulberry and the willow.
Another fuck you plant. I'm almost certain it's Bittersweet. AKA poisonberry, woody or climbing nightshade.
Yep. Another 'fuck you' plant. 'They tried to cut me down. Hah! Fuck you.' Mulberry
For photography, I just snap pics of whatever calls. My app is telling me pagoda dogwood.
Another 'fuck you' plant. (Are we seeing the pattern yet? 😅🤣.) Garlic mustard
The fuck you flower of the plant world and another of my favourites. Common dandelion. One of our daytime pollinators first food sources so please leave them be.
Took some pics when I was out this last week. I managed a whole 5 metre nature walk! Doesn't sound like much, but it's a lot for me. I'm still trying to rebuild my stamina. Gonna thread them by plant/pic type. These are 'common blue violets'. I love violets.
A dear friend reminded me of the importance of adding more joy to the world. So, I created this list to make threads from, if you'd like. Don't answer with anything you'd *ever* use as a password or personal information! Please feel free to use it yourself. It's a good thing to remind ourselves
Well. This certainly doesn't give me anything except more gags. Did Kingfisher even *play the game*? That is NOT what Astarion was hunting for. I could say *a lot* more about the overview. I won't bother, though, cause it's about the money. @penguinrandomhouse.bsky.social you fucked up.
can learn something I don't know within my areas of interest. These weren't generally flintlock by the 1840s, they used pinfire ammunition. Pinfire ammunition was basically the first type of self-contained metal jacket cartridge. An extruded pin acted as a firing pin. Examples.
Here's a picture of an authentic one. They were called pepperbox revolvers after the multiple barrels. To be completely chronistic, Urban's revolver should have likely had more than one barrel. Single barrel revolvers only became more common around the mid to late 1830s. I love it when I
Note for the harmonica pistol. There were several concept pieces made prior to the 'official' invention date So, here's a not very awesome clip of Urban's revolver in The Bluff. They took some liberties, prettied it up. During the mid 1800s these revolvers were often twenty shots w/two barrels.
First designed in 1814. Its heyday was after the 1830s, but they did actually exist even if I'd never seen one before in my life. Given the time period, it makes sense that it wouldn't have been the flintlock design, too. The one pictured is a ten-shot harmonica pistol at the NF Museum in VA, USA
Queer AF author here. If you want #queer? Check out us indies. Indie is where a lot of marginalized authors go for various reasons. Honestly, if you want anything by marginalized folks? Indie. Personally, I ran screaming from trad pub as soon as I got my rights back. A dream turned nightmare.
CPTSD among a list of other mental illnesses. And totally agree on weed. I use Indica nightly. Probably wouldn’t *ever* sleep if I didn't. I'm just out of it and broke. Plus I'm not allowed to take anything, not even scrips before the dentist because of insurance reasons. Mental illness list 🤣
As I sit here unashamedly listening to Guns n' Roses, Warrant, Scorpions, Metallica, Firehouse, Van Halen, Whitesnake, Foreigner, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Damn Yankees, White Lion, Poison, Skid Row, & Nazareth? Yup. TBF though, I listen to modern, foreign language, opera, hip hop & more, too.
in the American South. These are images of historical cats.
Well. I got a laugh from this at least. 🤣 I'll believe it when I see it. Me being kind-hearted has almost destroyed me. It's everyone else's turn.
The world is very much in trouble 🤣. It's dual, so either an incredibly powerful Fae Empress. Or the enemies to lovers LI. Who happens to be the incredibly successful Warlord of the army invading her land. Either way. Fascists wouldn't be a problem for long. 😅 Shame we can't wish them real
Not gonna lie, I'm desperate. Between Covid & my health scare, my editing list has dried up. I'm trying to rebuild. Can't afford professional editing? Make me an offer sale. Check my credentials here, and see what we usually charge. Which isn't even industry standard. www.chimeraediting.com
If it takes us a little longer, who the fuck cares? It's not a race. Grandma Moses didn't start painting in earnest until she was 78. I've actually made maple syrup this way. 😅😂 "Sugaring Off" by Grandma Moses (Anna Mary Robertson Moses)
