Today in Phoenix. That heat index for you is *brutal.* But climate change is a hoax, amirite?

The highest will be 102. The lowest will be 71° f. There is an hourly forecast portion that says it will be down at 89° by 9:00 p.m.

First real day in Athens. Visited the Acropolis Museum, the Acropolis itself, Pnyx Hill--the birthplace of democracy that was destroyed by a coup!--and "Socrates Prison" where the Greeks hid antiquities from the Nazis.

This is called Pnyx Hill, The birthplace of democracy where Athenians governed themselves from 500 BCE to 330 BCE. Democracy was paused during the Peloponnesian war and was brought under various controls by other governments as a result of other wars, but any citizen which was limited to males born in Athens were allowed to speak on whatever topic they chose in this place. However, the Greeks did not have a speech and debate privilege. You could be held responsible for bad ideas.

Went to a "Nights are Before Christmas" last night with my cousin. It was a fun mix of Halloween and Christmas and a nice adult escape. Including some cast going out into the parking lot knocking on car windows and trying door handles, easily the best part.

The more inelastic the price, the closer to 0 the measure of elasticity gets. It's unsurprising then that pediatric healthcare in the US is almost a perfect 0, well above the elasticity measurement of health insurance generally, which is still very inelastic. 2/

People will forgo movie visits and stay in during tough times. Even medical insurance is at -0.31, lower than the other products on the list. Pediatric healthcare visits are down at -0.03 to -0.06. Basically, the closest you can get to total inelasticity in a market where the goods still have to be purchased.

LIVE from the East Valley. I know it's Arizona folks, but don't drive into flooded water ways. It's not just your battery. Your car takes air into the engine to make the combustion work, at least one belt that needs friction, etc. Turn around, don't drown.

Why does all the dehumanizing, limiting language & stigma about autistic ppl, LO built this incredible tower. Thrilled with herself, she ran around swimming before grabbing her AAC, hitting "c u b e s. Cubes" when the other mom stared, ago, at the non-speaking little girl who could spell (& stack).
