Yes indeed, ancient "wells" are often at a spring, with a little dipping pool (sometimes roofed), built where the water emerges, when it's at its purest. Like this one near me - the dipping pool of this one is so big you can dip yourself in it! 🥶🥶 Thank you for indulging my pedantry 😁
We certainly do. And in the meantime if you're lucky enough to have accessible widows, you can do this
Two tiny plants from a rocky Colonsay shore for #wildflowerhour - (might be a bit bigger were they growing somewhere less windy!). I think they are a scurvy grass and a corn salad respectively (giant red finger for scale 😅)
(I quite like this one too -from the innocent bygone era when Cat Twitter was a thing - the sticker was part of her merch!)
Bought a laptop recently, and the microphone doesn't work. The AMOUNT of work (that almost certainly won't help) Acer are making me do, before they will agree to take it away and fix it....😠 (this is their second barrage of gobbledegook - in response to me telling them the first lot did nothing)
Nothing as impressive as your display, but this character (from seed collected from Mum's garden) had me impressed and also puzzled - it seems to have acquired a jack-by-the hedge near-conjoined-cousin
This one tbf not quite so insanely priced (for Hackney), but have fun getting the grease spots out of those breezeblocks 😅https://themodernhouse.com/sales-list/lode
This looks logical enough - till you ralise there's actually a bloody great hole full of mud and water, untraversably bisecting the blue half 🤯 Map *actually* looks like this
Presumably they didn't expect anything better? And yet, I guess people do, bafflingly, make use of it - despite us all seeing examples like this (a personal favourite)
Looking forward to the LinkedIn discussions of the assumptions in the modelling they used to derive "bill savings"
On a perfectly innocent quest for information about changes to rdSAP... this was from a training provider. Though they do make becoming a DEA look a bit challenging, you also appear to have to learn cyrillic - and grow extra fingers 😅
Gosh, I can't think how anyone will be able to do an EPC assessment under the new SAP, if *this* is what you need 😲 (spoiler, it goes way beyond just having to measure the windows...)
But worry not! The ventilation is mainly managed by the kitchen floor 🌬️🌬️
If you wondered why people so often disable their ventilation, try this handy explainer
Life in the Cotswolds must be bloody awful if you don't drive a car (From the map of connectivity by public transport, with brown as basically zero, purple still pretty much bugger all. Central Gloucester glows orange and as you would expect, London is a fiery red.)
Any #lichen or #fungus enthusiasts here who can tell me what this is?(or which, indeed!) Seems to be fruiting (the little orange hats?) but altogether unfamiliar.. @guyshrubsole.bsky.social is this one in your repertoire?
