Kayleigh
@kaylstew
got a C+ in third grade gym class • queer nerdy Episcopal seminarian • she/her/hers • New Englander turned New Yorker in the South
bringing this back because meeting your professor’s goats at the Sewanee fourth festivities is still amazing and even more so when they get stuck in a chair
“Kayleigh, why haven’t you been going to your regular church since they moved to an earlier service time for summer?”
if YA books about lesbian selkies existed when I was a teen I would have realized I was bi WAY sooner
this year has obviously been tough in a lot of ways but having a buddy to share my life with has made it immeasurably better. all she wants is to cuddle and play with me (and also for me to feed her even though she has food in the bowl)
she did SO well and we will be snuggling and watching basketball all afternoon
I wrote a hymn text for the Annunciation as my final for Church Music last semester, and we’re singing it at Evensong tonight! 5:45pm central if you want to tune in, but here’s the hymn if you’re interested! Link to the livestream: vimeo.com/event/1286230
I love preaching!! What a gift to explore God’s word in a community I love!!! I can’t believe I get to do this!
my brother called his shot early saying it came to him in a vision so I got to send this to the family group chat when his bracket busted
Josie is an absolutely perfect cat but she triggers my allergies in ways I thought my former cat cured me of— please pray I adjust quickly bc all I want to do is snuggle her 😭
everyone, meet Josephine 💗 she goes by Josie and is named after St. Joseph of Cupertino, the patron saint of students taking exams, which felt right for a cat adopted during my middler year
Just realized that at 30 years old, I’ve just hit my 30th state visited in the US (not counting DC)! Let’s see if I can hit all 50 by my 50th..
29 had some good times, but a lot of trauma and tragedy. 30 so far has cacio e pepe, prosecco, dark chocolate mousse, and family time, so we’re off to a good start. Here’s to a new decade!
@keakealani.bsky.social I guess you can’t send pictures on Bluesky, but other Sewanee alum might enjoy my class’s absolutely unhinged keywords for remembering liturgies for the imitation exam, with your contributions on top! (I put it in alt text if you can’t read the handwriting on the board)
most days “depression can’t hit a moving target” means I work out in the mornings, but today it also meant “time to bake cookies because I cannot sit still any longer.” heartbreak/grief have their perks!!
Nothing has been summarized my post catastrophic breakup state of mind than this— wearing two different Chelsea boots on each foot for Evensong tonight.
best friend reminded me of someone else who called off her engagement and was much happier for it, feeling encouraged
I would not be getting through this without my parents. I do not deserve them. They are amazing.
Me: I can’t wait for this family wedding in Florida, it’ll be like getting a bit of extra summer! I’m going to spend the entire time in the ocean The weather forecast:
