Try to change my 4 Favorites on LetterBoxd every month, and for August I decided to chose 4 superhero flicks since it’s essentially the genre that raised me. This is also in reaction to talking points about how most of the genre are government propaganda and I feel these are the opposite.
If you don’t care too much about plots, themes, and continuity with the first two films (which is most people) then Ragnarok has incredible visuals from the Kirby style giant heads and this dragon chasing Thor? Somebody made an anime opening to this flick, and I just wish that was the movie!
I’d like to also note that I was the 69th repost for this immaculate news. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
UPDATE: the IMAX showings did indeed have new credits for the Wachowskis. Your 4K will probably have it, too!
Looks like it was 2018, two years after they both were out of the closet, so unfortunately they probably won’t change the credit for the new release. I swear there was some re-release of one of their old movies that had a proper credit lately? Was it the Criterion release of Bound?
To celebrate my dad’s birthday, I changed my 4 favorites on LetterBoxd to movies I think he would have chosen if he were to have an account. Pretty confident on 2/4, Galaxy Quest and The Mummy were definitely movies he’d stop what he was doing to watch. Kind of the same with Godfather.
Fav part of any Batflick is usually when he does Batman stuff out of costume.
About to view Avatar 3 without having seen the second movie. But seeing how well my friends were able to recall the second movie’s plot (they couldn’t) I should be in relatively good shape to check this one out. Wish me luck on Pandora!
Made a post that had more traction than my usual stuff. I received no harassment or anything directly (maybe the comments on one of the quote tweets had people tearing me a new asshole). Just pure anxiety of more people than usual seeing my takes, and admittedly I was being rude and cheeky about it.
Like kudos to this mom for going up to Ernst face-to-face and saying this, but why isn’t everyone at the fair collectively booing at her until she leaves? Even if republicans welcome her, the Dems there should be enough to shame her out of there. Ditto with every other politician.
