First potato harvest! This was from the bag I didn’t think would yield anything. It was the last one we topped off with soil and the first one to die off. I have five more bags that should yield more. 🤞🏻 🌱 #gardening #zone6b #gardensky

Is it solar powered? It’s really cool. You could make a neat little water thingie with some water iris and water lettuce. Water lilies are probably too big, but you could keep the others easily under control. This is my pond, made from the old septic tank.

But I find anything that isn’t a stitch I normally do demotivating. For example, I actively avoid any pattern that includes *cough*hack*spit* bobbles. On the other hand, I adore knitting lace because you can get such beautiful designs out of simple 1 or 2 stitch increases and decreases. 🧶

Day 12 progress. I only managed a few rows today, my knitting motivation was low. That got me thinking about what motivates and demotivates me with knitting. Then I saw Bluesky had implemented automatic thread numbering, so…a thread about game theory and knitting. 🧶 #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

Here I use the purple to mark the 12 st lace repeat. I’m not doing the same number of repeats on each row; I start with 1, then 3, 5, and 7. I use the green to mark the edges of the actual lace repeats I’m working on for a given row. These markers are nice because they’re just a little flexible. 🧶

Day 11 progress. I ret about half of what I ripped out yesterday, so I’m back to being halfway done. I confess, I am a stitch marker junkie. I have dozens of stitch markers. I use my special black cat markers at the BOR working in the round. 🧶 🐈‍⬛ #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

Day 10 progress. Me: I followed the directions exactly. Narrator: She did, in fact, NOT follow the directions exactly. Turns out ignoring what the * says was kind of stupid. Day 9 progress. HELP!!! Dahell am I doing wrong?!? This is supposed to be a heart lace repeat. Although it is a 12-stitch repeat, there is a center stitch column. It shows in the chart and in the sample. It fucking shifts one stitch when I follow the directions exactly. #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

Day 8 progress. Very little progress today. I did, however, complete 32 k4togs, so there’s that…

Day 7 progress. Close to the halfway mark, I think. Finished the 3rd of 6 skeins today. Knitted 10” so far; have another 2” to go before agile shaping. Wish I could get a better photo of the lace pattern. Can anyone tell what it is? 🧶 #ShowMeYourKnits #Knitting

Day 6 progress. Started the lace panel. Those k4togs may be my Waterloo. It took me a couple of tries to get the lace started in the right place, but I finally figured it out and got a couple of rows knitted. #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

Day 5 progress. Finished a second skein of yarn. That’s 16 rows of ribbing and 33 rows of stockinette stitch. It was a nice sunny day, cool enough to leave the doors and windows open! Another day like today and I’ll be well into the first lace repeat. 🧶 #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

Day 4 progress. Not much done today, just 5-6 rows of stockinette stitch, about a third of what I did yesterday. It turned into a dreary, rainy, nap in the recliner kind of day. 🧶 #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

I’ve only had two circular needles break. One was completely my fault as I had tried to put far too many stitches on it. The other broke as I was knitting lace. That resulted in some very choice words.

Day 3 progress. Just starting row 14 of 40 rows of stockinette stitch. That’s about 5” total before I start the simple lace inset. 🧶 #ShowMeYourKnits #Knitting

Day 2 progress. I’m at about 2 inches of ribbing. I will do a few inches of stockinette stitch before starting the lace panel inset. I am not a particularly fast knitter since I knit English with my inflammatory arthritic hands, but I get the job done eventually. 🧶 #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

I thought I would try to document my progress on this project with one pic a day. The yarn is Euro Baby Sweetness, a DK weight yarn knit on size 6 circular Karbonz needles. It will be a tank with a simple lace panel. Day 1 results are about 1” of 1X1 half twist ribbing. 🧶 #Knitting #ShowMeYourKnits

Knitting is relaxing, they say, it will lower your stress, they say… And this is a meme I did for the 2020 election recounts…

Trump and his minions couldn’t even get fair food right! Even this bleeding heart liberal knows if you don’t have funnel cake, corn dogs, and deep fried Oreos, it’s not worth your time.

But the real problem isn’t the algae or Trump’s reputation. The real problem is he is so desperate to be part of the cool kids group but he knows he never will be. So his only resort is to do anything he can to ruin THEIR reputations. He’s just so incompetent he can’t even get that right.

I think they should change the #ReflectingPool into a Reflection Pool and add water features, a couple of bridges, lots of water flora and some fish to it. Embrace the green! 🌱
