There's a lovely yeoman's farmhouse further out from the big medieval farmhouse which would do nicely. I also have a soft spot for the 19th century railway cottages as they are so similar to our ickle house in Southampton.

A truly sobering time at #allotment #allotmentlife. Four months with no rain to speak of and a month of hosepipe ban. So different from even one month ago, with plum trees and apple trees withering and an infestation of codling moth throughout. Climate change in action. 😔

In spite of everything got up to the #allotmemt this evening, to hoe, strim, mow, weed and water. Still lots to catch up on but crops of onions, shallots, garlic, broad beans and spuds seem to be surviving the warm weather.

For the last fifteen years when camping I've relied on an Indian Primus stove knock-off called a Prabhat. It hasn't exploded and, for a small amount of paraffin, still cooks some brilliant breakfasts and dinners

#allotment #allotmentlife bottom of the allotment sorted. Headland cleared and new fenceposts (old scaffolding poles) in. Loganberries and tayberries tied in plus a splendid climbing rose in bloom. Shallots and spuds starting to produce growth. Thornless blackberry and bramble clearing tomorrow 😋

Afternoon up the #allotment. Bed cleared and onions planted. Shallots garlic and potatoes weeded. Lots more to do but the roses and globe artichokes have started.

Shallots finally coming through, plus garlic, and the beds in one plot looking better. Apple blossom coming in the dwarf pyramid apples, and I finally managed to start joining hands with some of the apple trees for support #allotmentlife

A few hours up the plot getting the second early seed potatoes in. Earlier this week international Kidney and Charlotte in. Today Kestrel and Nicola. Desiree, Nadine and King Edward still to go. Some using comfrey, others with beautiful well rotted manure #allotmentlife
