I took same (or similar) photo this weekend. Any trip to wildland in West means encounter with wildfire. Crews were out in force to clear trails … covered in soot from their effort. Hard work that keeps getting harder.

Bristlecone Pines in the Great Basin National Park (Wheeler Peak Grove). At 3000 - 5000 years old, some of the oldest living things on the planet.
