In a small town on Prince Edward Island, I spend my days doing things of little relation to what I harp upon here.
The crew is out early. This is the same family who tore my bird feeders out of the tree to eat the seed.
“Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind. “ My next morning coffee read.
Such a beautiful day for the important things- reading, writing, nap, coffee by the river and a nice long run through the trail. More days like this please.
Hiking in Koh Lanta before I decided to drive a motorcycle down a dirt road, son on back, pretending to know what I was doing. Luckily I took the brunt of punishment when we crashed.
That time I posed with General Lee, opium warlord near the Burmese border. He offered me tea, but my driver eventually ushered me away.
It’s a beautiful day. The sky is a clear blue, the trees stark against it, not yet ready to bud. The air is crisp. I can hear small birds being noisy somewhere. It almost feels like we’re on the cusp of something — with a blink, the yard will be all green again.
The boy on the left was just named Captain of the Mount Allison swim team. The girl on the right is a Chinese interpreter for clients around the world. Kids bring hope.
